Hyundai Venue, a subcompact SUV, was unveiled by TC Motor on December 16, 2023. Assembled domestically in two trims, it retails from 539 million to 579 million VND, quickly capturing the attention of car enthusiasts.

Hyundai Venue’s angular and distinctive design is evident in its sharp lines and decisive contours. Viewed from the side or at an angle, numerous rugged features are noticeable, particularly the trapezoidal grille with a glossy black chrome finish. This grille design is reminiscent of its elder sibling, the Palisade. Along the body, Hyundai Venue continues to impress with its muscular and robust stance, accentuated by a raised character line. Hyundai also adorned the SUV with several eye-catching elements, including an elevated roof rack and 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels with five double spokes.

The rear of the vehicle embodies the contemporary trend with a continuous LED strip. The taillight design also incorporates the Parametric Pixel style originating from the IONIQ 5. Overall, the Venue measures 3,995 x 1,770 x 1,645 (mm) in length, width, and height, with a ground clearance of 195mm. Compared to its rivals, the Raize and Sonet, the Venue’s dimensions are slightly smaller.

Collectively, these elements create the appearance of a compact yet distinctive SUV, “unlike any other.” For many young people, this edgy and assertive design may contribute to expressing their individuality. Conversely, for individuals seeking a more conservative vehicle and prioritizing practicality, the pronounced and multifaceted angular lines may appear somewhat chaotic and lacking in longevity.

The Venue’s interior design is not particularly impressive, equipped with basic features such as an 8-inch central touchscreen supporting the latest Android Auto/Apple Carplay connectivity and six speakers. The seats are upholstered in a combination of leather and fabric, with rear passenger air vents and convenient USB Type-C charging ports. The vehicle employs a mechanical handbrake, which would be significantly enhanced by an electronic handbrake. The sunroof is also a notable feature for a compact vehicle like the Venue.

The Hyundai Venue is powered by the I3 Kappa 1.0 Turbo GDI engine, delivering a maximum output of 120 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and peak torque of 172Nm at 1,500 ~ 4,000 rpm. This engine, developed in Europe, aims to reduce the inherent turbo lag often associated with small-displacement turbocharged engines alongside fuel efficiency, a crucial factor for this compact vehicle. The engine is paired with Hyundai’s familiar 7-speed Ecoshift dual-clutch transmission.

Under idling conditions and in urban driving, the Venue proves to be a well-behaved vehicle: good sound insulation, no noticeable engine or road noise penetrating the cabin despite the absence of sound-absorbing mats. The electric power steering is light and provides precise handling. However, the transmission seems less responsive at low speeds, with a perceptible delay in gear changes, particularly
