A-segment Sales Table March 2024 (unit: vehicles)

Hyundai Grand i10: 598 Vehicles

In March 2024, the Hyundai Grand i10 continued to lead the A-segment with sales reaching 598 vehicles, a growth of 127% compared to the previous month. This is also the model with the highest sales growth rate in the A-segment. In the Hyundai family, the Grand i10 is the second best-selling model, after the Accent.

Hyundai Grand i10

In the first 3 months of this year, the Hyundai Grand i10 achieved sales of 1,341 vehicles, leaving its two rivals in the A-segment, the Toyota Wigo and Kia Morning, far behind.

Although the A-segment is no longer as popular as before, the Hyundai Grand i10 remains a favorite choice for many Vietnamese customers. This is thanks to its stylish design, sufficient equipment, and affordable price, ranging from 360 to 455 million VND for 6 versions of this Korean car. In addition, the Hyundai Grand i10 also has both sedan and hatchback versions for consumers to choose from.

The Hyundai Grand i10 features notable equipment such as LED headlights, LED daytime running lights, fog lights, LED taillights, 14 – 15 inch rims, electrically foldable/adjustable rearview mirrors/integrated turn signals, analog instrument panel with 5.3 inch TFT multi-information display, 8 inch entertainment screen, leather seats, 4-speaker sound system, and Cruise Control.

The engine of the car is a 1.2L MPI Kappa gasoline engine, producing a maximum capacity of 83 horsepower and a maximum torque of 114 Nm. The engine is combined with either a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission, depending on the version.

Toyota Wigo: 288 Vehicles

Similar to the previous month, in March 2024, the Toyota Wigo also grew in terms of sales. Accordingly, the car sold 288 units, an increase of 94.5%, and ranked second in the A-segment.

Toyota Wigo

The Toyota Wigo was added to the Vietnamese market with a new generation in mid-2023. In the new generation, this model not only changed its design to be more modern and beautiful but also added more equipment.

Notable features of the Toyota model include LED headlights, electrically foldable/adjustable rearview mirrors, 14-inch alloy wheels, 7-inch central touch screen, and a 4-speaker sound system. Notably, the car also has safety features that are rare in the segment, such as the BSM blind spot warning system and the RCTA rear cross-traffic alert.

The Toyota Wigo in Vietnam uses a new 1.2L gasoline engine, combined with a 5-speed manual or D-CVT dual continuously variable automatic transmission. This engine delivers a maximum capacity of 87 horsepower and a maximum torque of 113 Nm.

The Toyota Wigo is currently priced between 360 – 405 million VND, which is quite reasonable in the segment.

Kia Morning: 73 Vehicles

Similar to the two rivals above, the Kia Morning also increased sales compared to February 2024. Accordingly, the car achieved sales results of 73 vehicles, an increase of 78%. However, this model still ranks behind the Hyundai Grand i10 and Kia Morning due to its rather modest sales.

Kia Morning

The Kia Morning currently has 6 versions and is priced from 349 to 424 million VND, cheaper than the Hyundai Grand i10. However, the equipment of the Kia Morning is also inferior to its compatriot rival as it is only equipped with Halogen headlights and lacks cruise control.

In addition, the Kia Morning also has LED daytime running lights, LED taillights, electrically foldable/adjustable rearview mirrors/integrated turn signals, 14 – 15 inch rims, analog dashboard with integrated multi-information display, leather seats, 8-inch central screen, 4 – 6 speaker sound system, and automatic air conditioning.

The power source for this Korean model is a 1.25L Kappa gasoline engine, delivering a maximum capacity of 83 horsepower and a maximum torque of 120 Nm, paired with a 4-speed automatic or 5-speed manual transmission.
