Shortly after its official launch, this SUV has been sold with an extra charge at the dealership. Accordingly, some dealers in the Southern region are currently suggesting that customers install an accessory kit worth tens of millions of dong if they want to receive the car early.
In particular, a dealer in Ho Chi Minh City is currently selling the 2-tone Suzuki Jimny for nearly VND 900 million. According to the sales consultant at the dealership, the car has been pre-installed with a genuine 30-item accessory kit.
It can be said that this is a rare Suzuki model that has been sold with an extra charge at dealerships. In the past, car models that were “sold with an extra charge” at dealerships often belonged to brands such as Toyota, Honda, Ford or Hyundai.
The reason why the Suzuki Jimny is being “sold with an extra charge” at dealerships is due to the high level of interest from customers and limited supply. Previously, Suzuki Vietnam also said that the supply of Jimny from the factory in Japan is not much. Not only in Vietnam, the Suzuki Jimny in some other Southeast Asian markets is also facing a shortage of supply. As a result, Vietnamese customers who order this SUV may have to wait 4 to 6 months for delivery.
As reported, the 2024 Suzuki Jimny in Vietnam is a 3-door version, which was first launched in the Japanese market in 2018. According to Suzuki, the Jimny is the only model present in the pure off-road SUV segment. Designed for off-roading, the 2024 Suzuki Jimny meets all the criteria for operating on a variety of terrains.

The 2024 Suzuki Jimny shares the same engine with the XL7 sibling currently sold in Vietnam. This is the K15B gasoline engine with 4 cylinders, 1.5L displacement, producing a maximum capacity of 101 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 130 Nm. This engine is combined with a 4-speed automatic transmission and the AllGrip Pro four-wheel drive system with a low gear mode. In addition, the car also has the ability to switch flexibly between 1-wheel drive and 2-wheel drive.
In addition, this compact SUV also has a separate body-on-frame chassis in a trapezoidal shape, a ground clearance of 210 mm, an approach angle of 37 degrees, a ramp breakover angle of 28 degrees and a departure angle of 49 degrees. These parameters help the car move flexibly on all rough terrain or slopes.
However, similar to other Suzuki models, the Jimny does not have any outstanding amenities or safety features. The car is equipped with standard LED headlights with washers, 15-inch alloy wheels, a spare tire on the trunk door, an analog dashboard with a small information screen, a grab bar for the front passenger on the dashboard, a 9-inch central touchscreen, support for Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Autolink, USB, Bluetooth Control Music Play, … The rear seats of the car can be folded flat to increase the volume of the luggage compartment.
