Kawasaki Ninja 500 is available in two variations, Standard and Special, in the international market, but only the Standard edition will be sold in Vietnam. Compared to its predecessor, the Ninja 400, the Ninja 500 boasts a number of upgrades, most notably a redesigned, sharper front end. The LED headlights are equipped with lenses and daytime running lights. Small winglets inspired by the ZX-4R superbike are integrated below.
Furthermore, the Ninja 500 is powered by a new engine that is 52cc larger than the Ninja 400, while maintaining its inline-twin cylinder configuration. It produces 51 horsepower at 10,000 rpm and 42.6 lb-ft of torque at 6,000 rpm, paired with a 6-speed gearbox featuring a slipper clutch.
The suspension system remains unchanged, consisting of 41mm telescopic front forks and a centrally-mounted monoshock in the rear, both of which lack full adjustability. Braking is handled by dual-piston front calipers with 310mm discs and a single-piston rear caliper with a 220mm disc. The seat height is set at 780mm.
In terms of features, the motorcycle is equipped with a TFT digital display that connects to a smartphone and features the Kipass smart key system.
The Kawasaki Ninja 500 will compete against the Honda CBR500R and targets young, entry-level riders in the large-capacity motorcycle segment.
