EX30’s design excellence accolade is based on four key criteria: functional quality, aesthetics, user experience and environmental responsibility. The jury of 39 experts from around the globe voted the EX30 as the winning car with an overall score of 93/100.
Launched last summer, the EX30 has picked up more than 20 major awards, including the prestigious Car Design Award 2024 by Auto&Design magazine, first established in 1984. The EX30 has also received The Sun Car of the Year, The Urban Car of the Year from World Car of the Year, Small SUV/Crossover of the Year by The Sunday Times, and the Eco Warrior of the Year award by Top Gear magazine.
The Volvo EX30 features a long wheelbase, large wheels and short overhangs that give the exterior a balanced and sophisticated look. The use of sustainable and recycled materials throughout the car is a step towards a more sustainable future. Furthermore, Volvo has created an inside that follows a unified theme throughout the design, from storage areas to the controls and display, opening up to a flexible and versatile space that is generously proportioned and premium in character.
Jim Rowan, chief executive of Volvo Cars, said: “The Volvo EX30 embodies Volvo Cars’ design values in a smaller package, showcasing the full breadth of our premium Scandinavian design approach with a strong focus on aesthetics and functionality. The EX30 has the lowest carbon footprint of any fully electric Volvo to date, and is designed with the safety you would expect from a Volvo. It’s packed with advanced technology and is perfectly suited to today’s market, where more and more people are making the switch to electric cars.”
