Exterior Design
Beijing BJ30 is positioned as a “light off-road” model. This new version is a replacement model. It adopts the latest design language and the body size is increased. It still maintains the family style of the Chinese car brand at the design level.
For example, the front part still maintains the five-hole shape, but unlike the previous air intake grille, it is enclosed by a transparent shell. The five-pointed star daytime running light strip is very recognizable after being lit. .
The length, width and height of the Beijing BJ30 body will be 4,730 mm x 1,910 mm x 1,757 (1790) mm, and the wheelbase is 2,820 mm, which is larger than the current BJ30, especially the wheelbase is even longer than some mid-size SUVs. .
The Beijing BJ30 compact SUV has a boxy shape with horizontal and vertical lines on the sides, combined with black wheel arches and black decorative strips on the sides, giving it a unique off-road style.
Similar to the BJ40, the new-generation Beijing BJ30 has made some changes to the design of the C-pillar and D-pillar to enhance the stylish atmosphere.
Although it is not a professional heavy-duty off-road vehicle, the BJ30 has an approach angle of 25°, a departure angle of 30°, a longitudinal passing angle of 21°, and a maximum ground clearance of 215mm, with good passing ability.
The shape of the rear part of the car is relatively thick, with a thick black trim panel below the rear windshield, and the vertical taillights on both sides look like a D shape when illuminated. Bright silver trim is added to the black surround, which highlights the front of the car.
Interior
Coming to the interior, the BJ30 will be equipped with 10.25-inch + 14.6-inch dual screens and equipped with an 8155 chip compared to the previous-generation model, which can be said to be a shocking change. The air-conditioning vents under the central control unit adopt a through-type design, which increases the visual width of the vehicle.
The rear seats of the new BJ30 are designed to be folded flat, increasing the upper limit of the trunk space, with a depth of up to 1920mm. Multiple anchor points are also added to the trunk for convenient use of mesh bags and other fixing methods.
In terms of intelligent driving, the new-generation Beijing BJ30 compact SUV will be equipped with L2.5-level driving assistance functions, providing safety for the occupants, as well as the experience of countless new features built by the Chinese car company.
Powertrain
In terms of the electrical system, the BJ30 Magic Core electric drive version is equipped with a 1.5T HEV hybrid system. The 1.5T A156T2H engine has a maximum power of 116 kW, a maximum torque of 235 Nm, and a thermal efficiency of 41%.
The hybrid system has a total maximum power of 301kW, a maximum torque of 685 N·m, and a 0-100km/h acceleration time of 6 seconds.
Beijing officials said the Beijing BJ30 compact SUV has a comprehensive cruising range of up to 1,000 km. It will be equipped with the Magic Core electric four-wheel drive system. In addition, it will be equipped with the ATS all-terrain control system to implement multiple driving modes.
