Lamborghini Urus SE: A Hybrid Super SUV Unveiled in Beijing
On April 24, 2024, during the Beijing Auto Show, Lamborghini officially unveiled the new SE version of its Urus super SUV. Shortly after, this super SUV was priced in Vietnam, starting at 14,790,600,000 VND.

The most notable highlight of the Lamborghini Urus SE is its engine. Lamborghini has finally added plug-in hybrid (PHEV) technology to this supercar line.
The heart of the Lamborghini Urus SE is the familiar 4.0L twin-turbocharged V8 petrol engine, paired with an electric motor located inside the 8-speed automatic transmission. The petrol engine produces a maximum output of 612 horsepower, while the electric motor generates 189 horsepower.
In total, the Lamborghini Urus SE has a maximum output of 789 horsepower. With this figure, the SE becomes the most powerful version of the Lamborghini Urus supercar line to date. This power enables the car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 3.4 seconds, faster than the Lamborghini Urus S but slower than the Performante version.

In addition, the Lamborghini Urus SE has a 25.9 kWh battery pack, allowing it to travel 60 km without using the petrol engine. This promises to further enhance the appeal of the Lamborghini supercar, especially in markets that offer tax incentives for vehicles capable of operating without emitting toxic fumes.

Along with the new engine, the Lamborghini Urus SE also features a new electro-hydraulic multi-plate clutch and an electronic torque-vectoring differential, resulting in a weight reduction of 20 kg. However, this supercar still weighs up to 2,540 kg, 300 kg more than the conventional petrol-engine version.
Compared to the other versions of the Urus line, the Lamborghini Urus SE has been upgraded in several exterior details, such as a longer bonnet that extends down to the grille, resembling the new Revuelto supercar. There are also new LED lights and a redesigned rear tailgate with a black surround around the two taillights. The Galanthus alloy wheels, measuring up to 23 inches and enclosed in Pirelli P Zero tires, are also new features of the car.

Moving inside, drivers will encounter a 12.3-inch touchscreen display on the dashboard and redesigned air conditioning vents. The car’s seats and dashboard have been upholstered in new materials. The central console has been redesigned with new materials, creating a more mechanical feel.

In fact, the Urus SE is the second PHEV supercar from Lamborghini, after the V12 Revuelto. Later this year, the Lamborghini Huracan successor is expected to be unveiled and will also use a plug-in hybrid engine. By 2028, Lamborghini will introduce its first all-electric supercar, the Lanzador. After that, it will be the turn of the second-generation Lamborghini Urus to debut with an electric powertrain.
