Recently, social media has been abuzz with images of a limited edition Porsche 911 Dakar sports car spotted at a registration station in Hanoi. Thus, this is already the fourth Porsche 911 Dakar seen in the S-shaped country.
The Porsche 911 Dakar is limited to just 2,500 units worldwide, and now the fourth one has arrived in the country. The owner of the newly arrived car is still unknown, but some speculate that it may soon join another limited edition Porsche 911 sports car, the Sport Classic.
Currently, the limited edition Porsche 911 Dakar sports car is being distributed by authorized dealers in the country with a starting price of VND 15.3 billion, excluding additional options and registration fees.
First Porsche 911 Dakar to Arrive in Vietnam
The Porsche 911 Dakar’s main advantage is its 50 mm higher ground clearance, which can be increased by another 30 mm in High Level mode. Activated by a rotary knob on the steering wheel, this mode allows the Porsche 911 Dakar to fly over speed bumps and potholes without scraping the undercarriage.
At the “heart” of the Porsche 911 Dakar is a 3.0-liter, twin-turbocharged, straight-six gasoline engine that generates a maximum power of 473 horsepower and a peak torque of 570 Nm.
The engine is paired with an 8-speed PDK automatic transmission, all-wheel drive, and a rear-axle steering system, allowing this sports car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds. The car’s top speed is limited to 240 km/h.
