The Vietnamese auto market experienced another decline in sales during April 2024, prompting car brands and dealerships to introduce attractive incentives to stimulate consumer demand. Mitsubishi dealers are no exception to this trend.
A dealership in Hanoi is currently offering a significant discount of up to VND 300 million on the top-of-the-line 4×4 AT Mitsubishi Pajero Sport. This reduces the price of this variant to VND 1.075 billion.

Meanwhile, the 4×2 AT variant is being advertised by the dealership for less than VND 900 million. This represents a minimum discount of VND 231 million compared to the listed price of the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport 4×2 AT.
The Mitsubishi Pajero Sport 4×2 AT is priced at just over VND 800 million by the dealership.
Naturally, these promotional offers apply to the 2023 production year (VIN 2023) Mitsubishi Pajero Sport. While there are no differences in equipment or design compared to the 2024 model year vehicles, the resale value of the 2023 models will be lower. Additionally, the availability and color options for these VIN 2023 vehicles may be limited.
Throughout May 2024, Mitsubishi is offering a range of incentives on the Pajero Sport, including a 100% registration fee waiver, two years of free physical damage insurance, and a supportive interest rate package (MMV Auto Finance). Customers can save between VND 113 and 136 million during the registration process. The 4×2 AT variant comes with free maintenance for two years or 40,000 km, while the 4×4 AT variant offers free maintenance for three years or 60,000 km.
However, the manufacturer’s promotions do not seem to be enough to attract customers, leading dealerships to offer more substantial discounts to clear their inventory.
This could also be a strategic move to prepare for the arrival of the new Mitsubishi Pajero Sport. The upgraded version of this midsize SUV was recently launched in Thailand in March and is set to enter the Philippine market. Therefore, it is likely that the new Mitsubishi Pajero Sport will also make its way to Vietnam soon.
The introduction of the new model is expected to boost the sales performance of Mitsubishi’s SUV. In recent months, the Pajero Sport has consistently underperformed in terms of sales figures.
