The all-new Kia Seltos has just hit the market, with dealerships taking deposits and promising deliveries as early as April. The recently launched Mitsubishi Xforce has also garnered significant interest from consumers. In response to these new entrants in the SUV segment with a price range of around VND 600 million, many other automakers have quickly introduced attractive promotions.

Hyundai Creta Offers Savings of 410 Million VND

Hyundai’s B-segment SUV, the Creta, received a price adjustment at the beginning of March, with discounts ranging from 40 to 41 million VND depending on the trim level.

Specifically, the 1.5 AT Standard version of the Hyundai Creta now has a new listed price of 599 million VND, a reduction of 41 million VND from the previous selling price. The 1.5 AT High-end version also received a similar discount, bringing the vehicle’s price down to 699 million VND.

Trim Old Price (mil VND) New Price (mil VND)
1.5 Standard 640 599
1.5 Special 690 650
1.5 High-end 740 699

According to a sales consultant, in addition to the manufacturer’s discount, customers who purchase the Hyundai Creta will also receive additional benefits from the dealership, such as a free floor mat, dash cam, or complimentary maintenance service.

Last year, the Hyundai Creta outsold the Toyota Corolla Cross, with sales of 10,719 units, making it the best-selling B-segment SUV in the market. However, in the first two months of this year, Creta’s sales have been slightly impacted by the overall market situation. Its cumulative sales for the first two months of the year stood at 651 units, surrendering the top spot in the sales ranking for this segment to the Honda HR-V.

Honda HR-V Offers Registration Fee Support

The Honda HR-V has had an impressive start to the year, with total sales for the first two months surpassing 1,000 units. This also makes it the best-selling model in its segment for the new year, outperforming its competitors.

Since the beginning of March, the B-segment SUV has been offered with a registration fee support program to stimulate post-Tet consumer demand. Specifically, customers who purchase any version of the Honda HR-V during March will receive support for 50% of the registration fee (based on a 10% registration fee).

The Honda HR-V is currently available in the Vietnamese market in three trim levels: G, L, and RS, with listed prices ranging from 699 to 876 million VND depending on the color. With the registration fee support program, customers can effectively save between 34.5 and 43.5 million VND, depending on their registration location.

Nissan Kicks Offers Significant Discounts

According to information on the VAD website, the distributor of Nissan automobiles in Vietnam, the Nissan Kicks is currently offered with a 100% registration fee support program for customers who place orders and complete payment during March. However, this program only applies to vehicles produced in 2023.

Additionally, the 2023 VIN version of the Nissan Kicks V trim is offered with an additional discount of 200 million VND to clear inventory. After applying all the discounts, the price of this B-segment SUV drops to an attractive 658 million VND at the dealership.

This price point makes the Nissan Kicks more accessible than the higher trims of some competing models in the same segment, such as the Hyundai Creta 1.5 High-end (699 million VND), the Mitsubishi Xforce Premium (680 million VND), or the Kia Seltos GT-Line and X-Line with Kia Connect Lite, which have a listed price of 719 million VND.

Toyota Yaris Cross, Mazda CX-3, and Mazda CX-30 Offer Deep Discounts

The price war in the urban SUV segment, priced around VND 600 million, actually started at the beginning of the year with the introduction of the new Toyota Yaris Cross. Despite being launched in the Vietnamese market only in late 2023, the Yaris Cross quickly received a price adjustment from the manufacturer to stay competitive with other players in the segment.

According to dealership sources, during March, the vehicle is offered with a discount of up to 80 million VND to attract customers. Specifically, the gasoline-powered Yaris Cross has been reduced from 730 million to 650 million VND. The hybrid version is also offered at a discounted price of 765 million VND.

In addition to the manufacturer’s program, dealerships are also offering additional discounts of 10 to 30 million VND, along with a complimentary package of genuine accessories, including floor mats, dash cams, rain guards for all four doors, and a voucher for 10 liters of free fuel for customers who complete their purchase during March.

Thaco Vietnam has also announced price adjustments for several of its models in March, including the Mazda CX-3 and Mazda CX-30. The Japanese automaker has reduced the price of the Mazda CX-3 by 5 million VND from the listed price, bringing the suggested price of this B-segment SUV to an attractive 529 million VND. After the discount, the Mazda CX-3 becomes the most competitively priced SUV in its segment.

The Mazda CX-30 has also received a direct discount of 20 million VND from Thaco Vietnam, bringing its price down to 679 million VND.

The competition in the urban SUV segment is intensifying, providing customers with a wide range of choices and increasingly attractive prices and promotions.
