After the peak shopping season for automobiles during the Lunar New Year, the Vietnamese automobile market is expected to experience a typical lull.

Consequently, several automakers have extended their promotions to boost sales after a relatively sluggish year and to clear inventory of models produced in the previous year.

Honda Lineup

Prior to the Lunar New Year, Honda announced a promotion offering to cover up to 100% of the registration fee for various models in the Vietnamese market. According to sales consultants, Honda will continue this promotion throughout February.

The Honda City L and G versions will continue to benefit from a 100% registration fee waiver plus an additional 30 million VND in cash. The RS version of the Honda City will receive a benefit equivalent to a 50% registration fee waiver along with one year of body insurance.

Honda clarifies that the February promotion applies to 2023 VIN vehicles, and the registration fee is calculated as 10% of the car’s listed price.

The Honda CR-V, HR-V, Civic, and Accord models are also eligible for a 50% registration fee discount. Additionally, customers who purchase the G version of the Honda CR-V with a 2023 VIN will receive a 30 million VND cash bonus.

Last year, Honda sold a total of 23,802 automobiles to Vietnamese customers. Among these, the Honda City was the best-selling model, achieving sales of 9,894 units, accounting for approximately 41.6% of Honda’s total sales in the Vietnamese automobile market.

Nissan Automobiles

Throughout February, Nissan is offering customers a benefit equivalent to a 100% registration fee waiver when purchasing the Nissan Almera, Nissan Kicks, or Nissan Navara pickup truck.

In the Vietnamese market, the Nissan Almera competes in the B-segment sedan category with two versions: CVT and premium CVT. The Nissan Almera is currently priced at 539 million VND for the CVT version and 595 million VND for the premium CVT version.
