Post-Tet holiday, a range of D-sized SUVs, including the 2024 Ford Everest, Hyundai Santa Fe, and Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, have arrived at the ports. With a remaining stock of 2023 VIN cars, many dealerships quickly launched promotional programs to clear inventory and attract customers in the first quarter of 2024.

Hyundai Santa Fe and Ford Everest Offer Discounts on Older Models

A few Hyundai dealerships have been offering discounts of VND 100-120 million on the 2023 VIN Santa Fe, depending on the distribution location. However, these programs are usually short-lived and will quickly end once the older models are sold out.

According to a Hyundai dealership employee in Ho Chi Minh City, the D-sized SUV currently offers a total discount of VND 120 million. This promotional program is applicable to the limited number of 2023 VIN Santa Fe models still available in the market.

“Our dealership has one red 2023 VIN Santa Fe left in stock, so we’re offering a significant discount to clear inventory. This is a dealership-specific program with limited quantities. So, if you’re interested in owning a Santa Fe at a discounted price, now is the time to consider,” the employee added.

After applying the discount, the price of the 2023 VIN Hyundai Santa Fe ranges from VND 900 million to VND 1 billion, depending on the trim level.

Previously, according to a survey by Tri Thuc – Znews, the number of 2022-2023 Santa Fe models had almost sold out by the beginning of this year after the manufacturer applied promotions. By April, a few dealerships with remaining stock continued to offer additional discounts, but the quantities were limited, and there was a lack of color options.

Ford Everest, a competitor of Santa Fe, has also been observed to be offering discounts of tens of millions of VND on older models in the first month of the second quarter to attract customers.

Tri Thuc – Znews observed that Ford dealerships had sold out of the 2023 VIN Everest by mid-January. However, a few dealerships still had 1-2 units of the Everest AT 4×2 trim in stock until now. So, when the 2024 VIN cars arrived, dealerships quickly offered discounts on the remaining 2023 VIN Everests to clear inventory for the new models.

Contacting a Ford dealership in Ho Chi Minh City, an employee shared that they had two 2023 VIN Everest models left in stock, in brown-red and orange colors. To clear inventory, both vehicles were discounted by VND 50-65 million, bringing the price of this D-sized SUV to VND 1.2- 1.265 billion for the AT 4×2 trim. The sales consultant also confirmed that the discount program only applied to the older models and would end once those vehicles were sold out.

Chinese MPV Offers Discounts of Up to VND 130 Million, While Mitsubishi Pajero Sport Offers Registration Fee Discount

Under pressure from Japanese, Korean, and American automakers, Chinese automaker Haima has also quickly applied a discount program for its 7X MPV. Specifically, the gasoline-powered Haima 7X has been discounted by up to VND 115 million, bringing the listed price of this version to VND 750 million.

The dealership also announced a discount of VND 130 million on the all-electric variant of the 7X MPV. Thus, after applying the promotion, the prices of the Haima 7X-E Comfort and Haima 7X-E Premium are VND 981 million and VND 1.1 billion, respectively.

According to a dealership consultant, this is the first time the Haima 7X-E has been discounted, while the gasoline-powered Haima 7X has been offering promotions since the beginning of January. Despite the significant discount of up to VND 130 million, the Haima 7X still faces challenges in attracting Vietnamese customers. Even after the discount, the price of this MPV remains as high as that of a large SUV like the Ford Everest or Hyundai Santa Fe.

Mitsubishi’s large SUV, the Pajero Sport, has also joined the price competition this April. Specifically, according to the Mitsubishi Vietnam website, the Pajero Sport currently offers a 50% discount on registration fees.

Thus, with the Pajero Sport’s starting price of VND 1.13 billion to VND 1.365 billion, the value of the discount ranges from VND 56.5 million to VND 68 million, depending on the locality. Additionally, customers who place an order for the Pajero Sport and complete the payment in April will receive a free one-year physical damage insurance policy.
