Official promotion for Honda City in June 2024
The Honda City is currently the most expensive B-segment sedan on the market, excluding the Volkswagen Virtus. Aside from its unattractive price, the Honda model also faces stiff competition from rivals such as the Toyota Vios and Hyundai Accent.
On May 30, 2024, the new generation Hyundai Accent was officially launched in Vietnam, with prices ranging from 439 to 569 million VND, significantly lower than the Honda City. The 2024 Hyundai Accent also boasts a redesigned exterior, enhanced convenience features, and a new engine. Notably, the new generation of this Korean car has caught up with the Honda City in terms of safety, offering advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS). The introduction of the new Hyundai Accent is expected to pose a significant challenge to the Honda City in attracting Vietnamese customers.
However, for those who are loyal to the Honda brand, the City is a hard-to-ignore option. Aside from the brand’s reputation, the car also boasts an eye-catching design and comes standard with the Honda Sensing suite of advanced safety and driver-assistance technologies.
The Honda City is also highly regarded by users for its spacious interior and driving experience. It is powered by a 1.5L i-VTEC 4-cylinder DOHC gasoline engine that produces a maximum output of 119 horsepower and 145 Nm of torque, paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT).
