Entering April, Vietnam’s automobile market is witnessing positive signs with increasing supply and new car launches. Many automakers are also offering attractive promotions for Vietnamese customers, including billion-dong cars in the first month of Q2.

Skoda Lineup

In April, TC Motor announced a maximum discount of 100% on registration fees for both of its SUV models in Vietnam: the Karoq and Kodiaq.

Specifically, the Skoda Karoq, with a listed price of 999 million VND, will receive a 100% discount on registration fees this month, equivalent to a maximum promotional value of nearly 110 million VND.

For the 7-seat Kodiaq SUV, the brand is offering a 50% discount on registration fees this month.

In Vietnam, the Kodiaq is available in two versions, with listed prices of 1.189 billion VND for the Ambition version and 1.409 billion VND for the Style version. Thus, the promotional value applied to the Skoda Kodiaq ranges from 120 million to 140 million VND, depending on the version.

In addition, TC Motor stated that customers who purchase Skoda cars in April will receive a warranty extension to 5 years or 150,000 km, applicable to both models.

Skoda officially debuted in the Vietnamese market last September with the Karoq and Kodiaq SUVs. Both vehicles are imported from the Czech Republic and distributed by TC Motor, which also handles the distribution of Hyundai cars in Vietnam.

Subaru Forester

In April, Subaru continues to offer incentives for the Subaru Forester, the familiar C-size SUV of the Japanese automobile brand in Vietnam.

The highest incentive is for the Subaru Forester 2.0 i-S EyeSight version, which offers a cash gift of 250 million VND (only applicable to the pearl green color) along with a 5-year unlimited km warranty.

For the 2.0 i-L EyeSight version, the cash incentive applied in April is 210 million VND, along with automatic mirror folding and the same warranty as the i-S EyeSight version.

The Subaru Forester 2.0 i-L, on the other hand, receives a cash gift of 120 million VND, plus a 5-year unlimited km warranty.

The Japanese automaker stated that this incentive program only applies to vehicles with a 2023 VIN. The number of cash incentives for customers purchasing the Forester 2.0 i-S EyeSight is also limited.

Honda and Mitsubishi Lineup

In April, Honda and Mitsubishi also continue to offer incentives in the form of support for registration fees for their products in the Vietnamese automobile market.

Among these, the Honda Accord receives a cash incentive of 220 million VND from the Japanese automaker, likely aimed at clearing inventory for this D-segment sedan. In addition, customers who choose to purchase the Honda Accord in April will receive additional incentives provided by dealerships.

The Honda Accord is a D-segment sedan distributed by Honda in Vietnam as a completely built-up (CBU) import from Thailand. It is available in a single 1.5 Turbo version in the Vietnamese market, with a listed price of 1.319 billion VND.

Meanwhile, the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, along with other Mitsubishi cars, receives a 50% discount on registration fees this month.

Specifically, the 2023 Pajero Sport models will enjoy a promotion that includes a 50% registration fee, one year of physical insurance, and a 360-degree camera worth 20 million VND. For the 2024 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport models, the incentive is reduced to only the 360-degree camera.

The Mitsubishi Pajero Sport is a D-size SUV imported from Thailand and distributed in Vietnam by the Japanese automaker in two versions, with listed prices ranging from 1.13 billion to 1.365 billion VND. After the first two months of the year, Pajero Sport sales reached 148 units, just one unit behind the Toyota Fortuner’s sales performance but far behind the Ford Everest (1,135 units) in the sales statistics.

Various Cars with Attractive Promotions

Not only billion-dong cars but also many other vehicles in the Vietnamese market are being promoted by automakers and dealerships in April, helping customers save hundreds of millions of dong when buying a car.

As mentioned above, Honda cars in Vietnam are being offered incentives in the form of registration fee support by the Japanese automaker. For the 2023 Honda CR-V G and L 2WD versions, the incentive is 100% of the registration fee, plus 30 million VND in cash or one year of body insurance, depending on the version.

With a listed price of 1.109 billion VND for the G version and 1.159 billion VND for the L 2WD version, the maximum incentive value that Vietnamese customers can receive when choosing to buy this C-size SUV in April will be 141 million VND.

Nissan is also offering incentives in the form of registration fee support for customers buying cars in April, applicable to all of its automobile products in Vietnam.

Among them, the Nissan Kicks is offered a 100% registration fee plus two years of body insurance. Combined with dealership incentives, the total promotional value for this gasoline-electric car reaches 200 million VND, making the Nissan Kicks V version only 658 million VND at dealerships.

This actual price of the Nissan Kicks V version is considered competitive when compared to the highest versions of competitors such as the Hyundai Creta High version (699 million VND), Kia Seltos Premium version (739 million VND), Honda HR-V RS version (871 million VND), Mitsubishi Xforce Premium version (680 million VND), or the Toyota Yaris Cross HEV with a listed price of 765 million VND.

In addition, the Nissan Navara pickup truck versions also enjoy a 100% registration fee plus two years of body insurance. The Nissan Navara is imported from Thailand and distributed in Vietnam with a total of three versions, with listed prices ranging from 699 million to 970 million VND.
