It’s no secret that car dealerships and agents offer significant discounts on models ahead of new version releases, and Mitsubishi dealers in Vietnam are a testament to this.
Several Mitsubishi dealers in the provinces of Hung Yen, Ninh Thuan, and Binh Thuan are currently offering attractive promotions for the Triton pickup truck. These dealers are offering to cover 100% of the registration fee for customers purchasing the Mitsubishi Triton. Additionally, they are also providing complimentary accessories or body insurance for the vehicle.
The Mitsubishi Triton in Vietnam is priced between 650 and 950 million VND. The dealer’s offer to waive the registration fee is equivalent to a savings of 65 to 95 million VND, depending on the model.
Dealers are offering substantial discounts on the Mitsubishi Triton to clear stock for the new model.
During May 2024, the Mitsubishi company also ran a promotion for the Triton line, offering a 50% discount on the registration fee and one year of physical insurance. The 4×2 AT MIVEC version also came with a complimentary backup camera. However, it appears that the company’s promotion wasn’t enticing enough, so dealers are offering additional incentives to attract customers.
It’s worth mentioning that most of the Mitsubishi Tritons with 100% registration fee support at the dealerships are 2023 production models (2023 VIN). Compared to the 2024 production models, the 2023 VIN Tritons have no design or equipment differences, but they may face depreciation when resold. Additionally, the quantity and color options for these vehicles at dealerships are more limited.
The actions of Mitsubishi dealers aim to clear out their inventory of the current Triton and make way for the new generation model. The new Mitsubishi Triton is set to be launched in the Vietnamese market in September 2024 and will continue to be imported from Thailand, just like its predecessor. Vietnamese dealers have already started taking deposits for the new Triton.
The new generation Mitsubishi Triton will be launched in Vietnam in September this year.
Currently, the Mitsubishi Triton is the second best-selling model in Vietnam’s pickup truck segment. In the first four months of this year, the Triton sold a cumulative total of 579 vehicles, significantly lower than the segment leader, the Ford Ranger, which sold 4,824 units. The introduction of the new generation model is expected to boost the Triton’s sales performance.
