Last night, on the 1st of June 2024, the streets of Ho Chi Minh City were graced by not one, but three stunning McLaren supercars. What made this sighting even more extraordinary was the fact that all three vehicles were from the relatively young, yet highly revered McLaren brand, a favorite among car enthusiasts.
Among the trio was the McLaren GT, a grand tourer, and two speedsters – the 650S Spider and the 720S, both featuring jaw-dropping modifications: the Liberty Walk and Novitec’s N-Largo package.
The white McLaren GT, recently acquired by a car dealer in Saigon, is now on the market for nearly 10 billion VND. With just under 3,000 km on the odometer, this sleek machine is a rare find. There’s only one other McLaren GT in Vietnam, a head-turning orange model that was officially imported.
The McLaren GT offers a total storage capacity of 570 liters, including a 150-liter front trunk suitable for a medium-sized suitcase or handbag, along with personal items. The rear cabin provides an impressive 420 liters of space, ample room for a large and small suitcase or even a set of golf clubs.
Under the hood, the McLaren GT, previously owned by a female billionaire from Can Tho, boasts a powerful 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine that delivers 620 horsepower and 630 Nm of torque between 5,500 and 6,500 rpm. Coupled with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, this grand tourer can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds and reach a top speed of 326 km/h.
The McLaren 650S Spider and McLaren 720S, both modified with jaw-dropping body kits, are no strangers to the automotive enthusiast community. The 650S Spider is equipped with a 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine that generates 641 horsepower, paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission and rear-wheel drive. This combination enables the supercar to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3 seconds and reach a top speed of 328 km/h.
The McLaren 720S N-Largo takes performance to another level with its 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine, producing a staggering 710 horsepower and 770 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 7-speed SSG dual-clutch transmission, propelling the supercar from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.9 seconds and allowing it to decelerate from 100-0 km/h in 2.8 seconds. With a top speed of 341 km/h, the McLaren 720S is an exhilarating ride.
The one-of-a-kind McLaren 720S N-Largo in Vietnam is also fitted with a Frequency Intelligent Exhaust system, which boosts engine power by 8%. This modification likely increases the car’s horsepower to an impressive 766.
