Nissan dealers have been offering significant discounts on the Kicks model for several months now, and June 2024 is no exception. The ongoing promotions aim to attract customers with attractive deals.
Currently, a notable dealership in Ho Chi Minh City is offering an impressive discount of up to VND 220 million on the Nissan Kicks. After the discount, the price of the top-of-the-line V trim is reduced to just VND 638 million, making it more affordable than some standard variants of competitors like the Honda HR-V, Toyota Yaris Cross, and Toyota Corolla Cross. Additionally, the dealership is offering a complimentary accessory package worth VND 10 million with each purchase.

It is worth noting that the Nissan Kicks models currently available at dealerships are 2023 productions, as indicated by their VIN numbers. The dealership promotions are likely an effort to clear out inventory. The official distributor of Nissan vehicles in Vietnam (VAD) has also stated that they have no plans to introduce the 2024 model of the Kicks in the country.

In June 2024, Nissan is offering promotions on its entire range, including the Kicks, Almera, and Navara models. The company is providing support for 150% of the registration fee for these vehicles this month. However, dealerships are also offering additional exclusive discounts to expedite the clearance of existing inventory.
Currently, only the high-end V trim of the Nissan Kicks is available in Vietnam. Since late 2023, the standard E trim has been discontinued in the country.
The Nissan Kicks is one of the few compact SUVs in Vietnam that offers a hybrid powertrain. Along with the Toyota Yaris Cross and Corolla Cross, it stands out in the market. However, unlike the Yaris Cross, the Nissan Kicks features a series hybrid system.
Specifically, the Nissan Kicks utilizes e-Power technology, which includes an electric motor, a lithium-ion battery, an inverter, a gasoline engine, and a generator. The electric motor delivers an impressive 136 horsepower and 280 Nm of torque. The gasoline engine is a 1.2L 3-cylinder unit that produces 82 horsepower and 103 Nm of torque.
Interestingly, the gasoline engine in the Nissan Kicks does not directly power the vehicle. Instead, it functions as a generator to charge the battery. The electric motor is solely responsible for propulsion, resulting in an efficient and eco-friendly driving experience. With this advanced powertrain, the Kicks offers the benefits of an electric vehicle without the need for external charging, and it boasts an impressive fuel economy of just 2.2 liters per 100 kilometers in city driving.
Despite its fuel-efficient powertrain, the Nissan Kicks has not gained widespread popularity in Vietnam. One of the contributing factors is the initially high price of the vehicle. When it was first introduced in the Vietnamese market, the Nissan Kicks was offered in two trims with prices starting from VND 789 million to VND 858 million.
