The Toyota Yaris Cross has been a decent seller in the Vietnamese market. However, to boost sales, some dealerships are now offering additional incentives for this model.
As a result, select dealerships are now offering a discount of 20 million VND on the Toyota Yaris Cross. This compact SUV now has a starting price of just 630 million VND after the discount, while its listed price ranges from 650 to 765 million VND, depending on the trim level.
Toyota dealerships offer discounts on the Yaris Cross ahead of the registration fee incentive.
At this price point, the Toyota Yaris Cross is not the most affordable option in the compact SUV segment in Vietnam. It still carries a higher starting price compared to rivals such as the Kia Seltos, Mitsubishi Xforce, and Hyundai Creta.
Come July 2024, a decree reducing the registration fee by 50% for domestically produced and assembled cars will take effect. This will naturally put imported cars like the Toyota Yaris Cross at a disadvantage.
Despite its price point, the Toyota Yaris Cross boasts impressive standard equipment, especially in the gasoline-powered version. This compact SUV features LED lighting all around, 18-inch wheels, a digital instrument cluster with a 7-inch TFT screen, a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless phone charging, ambient lighting, a 360-degree camera, six airbags, and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS).
The Toyota Yaris Cross offers generous standard equipment.
The most significant difference between the two versions of the Yaris Cross lies in their powertrains. Specifically, the gasoline model is powered by a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine producing 105 horsepower and 138 Nm of torque, paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT). This variant delivers an average fuel economy of 7.4 liters per 100 kilometers.
On the other hand, the hybrid version combines a 90-horsepower 1.5-liter gasoline engine with a 79-horsepower electric motor and a lithium-ion battery. According to the manufacturer, this setup results in an impressive average fuel consumption of just 3.3 liters per 100 kilometers.
Thanks to its efficient hybrid powertrain, the Toyota Yaris Cross has enjoyed strong sales. In May 2024, the model sold 902 units, reflecting a 2.3% growth. From the beginning of 2024 until now, the Toyota Yaris Cross has sold a total of 2,939 units, ranking second in the compact SUV segment, just behind the Mitsubishi Xforce (2,942 units).
