Recently, car enthusiasts in Hanoi spotted a rare Maybach Zeppelin on the city’s streets, quickly attracting the attention of the wealthy and luxury car enthusiasts. The Maybach Zeppelin is an extremely limited edition, with only 100 cars produced globally, and it is believed that fewer than 8 have made their way to Vietnam.
What’s even more intriguing is that this newly-sighted Maybach Zeppelin in Hanoi bears an exclusive license plate: 14A-555.55, colloquially known as “quintuple 5.” This unique license plate previously caused a stir on social media when a young man from Quang Ninh province illegally modified the registration photo and shared it online, causing confusion.

The Maybach Zeppelin was first unveiled to the global elite at the Geneva Motor Show in 2009, and its limited production of 100 units immediately sparked interest. Just two years later, three Maybach Zeppelins simultaneously arrived in Vietnam, astonishing local car enthusiasts and showcasing the extravagant tastes of the country’s wealthy.
Maybach Zeppelins feature the car’s name on the door sills and below the double-M logo, distinguishing them from the standard model. Additionally, the Zeppelin has a white stripe running from the headlights to the taillights, and its 20-inch wheels are finished in matte paint, making it instantly recognizable.
The Maybach Zeppelin offers the option of a glass partition between the front and rear seats, ensuring privacy for its occupants. Controls for raising and lowering the glass, adjusting the curtains, and manipulating the seats are conveniently located on buttons placed on the center armrest between the business-class-style rear seats.
There are a total of seven buttons in the Zeppelin to manipulate the curtains on both sides and the rear, as well as the glass partition. Additionally, there are buttons to control the opacity of the glass roof, allowing natural sunlight into the cabin.
The rear seats also feature electrically adjustable footrests, elegant silver-plated cup holders, a champagne holder, and a small refrigerator, depending on the vehicle’s specifications. Both the front and rear seats are equipped with a massage function. Two entertainment screens are installed on the partition between the front and rear seats for the occupants’ enjoyment.
The infotainment system is controlled via a remote, and the driver’s compartment and passenger compartment are equipped with an internal telephone for convenient communication. The interior is adorned with piano-grade wood and glossy metal accents. The car boasts a Bose Surround Everywhere sound system with 21 speakers and a 600-watt output. Additionally, the Maybach is equipped with a four-zone climate control system.
Under the hood, the Maybach Zeppelin is powered by a twin-turbocharged 6.0-liter V12 engine that produces an impressive 640 horsepower and a peak torque of 1,000 Nm. This powerful engine is mated to a 5-speed automatic transmission, propelling the rare luxury car from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.1 seconds, with a top speed of 250 km/h.
