BMW is offering a range of incentives to stimulate sales in June 2024, ahead of the decree reducing registration fees by 50% for domestically produced and assembled cars. The brand has announced discounts on four of its luxury models: the 5-Series, 4-Series, 8-Series, and X5.
According to THACO, the exclusive distributor, buyers can expect to save 50% on registration fees for these selected models. The BMW X5, in both its M Sport and X Line versions, is included in this promotion. With a listed price of 3.2 billion VND for the M Sport and 3.5 billion VND for the X Line, the 50% discount on registration fees will save customers between 160 and 175 million VND.
Next up is the 530i M Sport from the 5-Series range, which benefits from a 155 million VND discount this month. The 4-Series promotion applies only to the 430i M Sport Gran Coupe, offering a saving equivalent to 140 million VND on registration fees. Meanwhile, the 8-Series sees a significant discount of 310 million VND on the 840i M Sport, priced at 6.2 billion VND.
Additionally, buyers of the 530i M Sport, X5, and 8-Series will also receive a complimentary BMW Service Inclusive (BSI) package for five years or 60,000 km, along with a five-year unlimited-kilometer warranty. Special offers for businesses and select customers are also available for the 530i M Sport, 430i Gran Coupe, and X5 models.
The X5 is one of the BMW models currently assembled in Vietnam by THACO, along with the 3-Series, X3, and 5-Series. In November 2023, THACO introduced an upgraded version of the luxury SUV in the Vietnamese market.
This new iteration features subtle design changes, including new headlights, a revised front bumper, updated taillights, and fresh alloy wheels. Inside, the BMW X5 boasts a new Curved Display that combines a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster behind the steering wheel with a 14.9-inch central touchscreen. It also introduces a Light Bar ambient lighting system with “X5” graphics and an elegant crystal-topped electronic gear selector.
Both versions of the BMW X5 are equipped with a new mild-hybrid powertrain, comprising a 3.0L inline-six gasoline engine paired with an electric motor integrated into the eight-speed Steptronic Sport transmission. The electric motor contributes 12 horsepower and 200 Nm of torque, resulting in a combined output of 381 horsepower and 540 Nm of torque.
The luxury SUV also benefits from BMW’s xDrive all-wheel-drive system and either an M Sport suspension or an air suspension. Safety features include lane departure warning, collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and a 360-degree camera to assist with parking and reversing.
In Vietnam, the BMW X5 competes directly with the Mercedes-Benz GLE, Audi Q7, and Lexus RX.
