After a year-long absence, the Vietnam Motor Show (VMS) is making a comeback in 2024, organized by the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (VAMA) in collaboration with the Vietnam Automobile Importers’ Association (VIVA).
VMS 2024 is scheduled to take place from October 23 to 27 at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC) in District 7, Ho Chi Minh City.
New Automotive Brands Join the Lineup
So far, the VMS 2024 organizers have confirmed the participation of automotive brands including Ford, GAC, Honda, Isuzu, Mitsubishi, Skoda, Subaru, Suzuki, Toyota, Volkswagen, and Volvo.
Additionally, several new brands entering the Vietnamese market are in the process of negotiation and are expected to join VMS 2024. BYD, the Chinese automotive brand set to debut in Vietnam in June, is also likely to be among the exhibitors at the show.
Moreover, VMS 2024 will, for the first time, feature motorcycle brands such as Honda, SYM, and Yamaha.

Similar to previous exhibitions, VMS 2024 will also feature hundreds of brands from auxiliary industries, including auto parts, accessories, and related sectors.
Ford will be returning to the exhibition after a two-year absence, while brands from Thaco and Hyundai will continue to be absent from this year’s event. Notably, Mercedes-Benz and Audi will not be participating in VMS 2024.
The VMS 2024 organizers have shared that this year’s exhibition will focus on the theme of “Technology and Environment,” promising the presence of many eco-friendly vehicles.
A Bustling “Car Market” Once Again?
In its most recent edition, VMS 2022 welcomed nearly 236,939 visitors, especially during the weekend. Notably, nearly 2,000 cars were sold, and thousands of orders were placed for upcoming models introduced at the exhibition within just five days.

With the participation of new automotive brands entering the market, including several Chinese automakers, it is likely that Vietnamese customers will continue the trend of “shopping” for cars directly at the exhibition during VMS 2024.
First held in 2002, VMS is considered the largest and most attractive exhibition in Vietnam by industry experts. The upcoming VMS 2024 in October is expected to attract over 200,000 visitors during the five-day event.
