The Lamborghini Huracan is one of the most successful supercars from the renowned Italian brand. In its 11-year reign, from 2013 to 2024, over 14,500 units of this powerful machine have been produced. In Vietnam, the number of Lamborghini Huracans is quite exclusive, with over 20 vehicles in the country, including the LP610-4, LP580-2, EVO, STO, and several other special editions.
One of the missing pieces in this Vietnamese collection is the Sterrato, Lamborghini’s first-ever off-road supercar. However, this is about to change as Gumball 3000 2024 comes to Vietnam on September 14-15, 2024. The event promises to attract hundreds of supercars from around the world, and among them, at least 2 Lamborghini Huracan Sterratos will be making an appearance, completing the Vietnamese collection of these impressive vehicles.
Images shared by Cường “Đô-la” showcase a red and a military green Sterrato, both equipped with additional storage boxes, possibly for camping gear—an essential for adventurous excursions beyond city limits. These vehicles are ready to conquer any terrain, including mountainous roads.
The name Sterrato translates to “mud” in Italian, and the design reflects this off-road intention. The ground clearance has been increased by 47 mm, with a 1% sharper nose and a 6.5% improved departure angle. The front and rear tracks have been widened by 30 mm and 34 mm, respectively, ensuring stability and balance during operation.
At its core, the Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato maintains the design of its standard counterpart but with notable off-road enhancements. These include two searchlights on the front, a roof rack, and thick wheel arch liners in black. The wheel arch liners are bolted on, adding to the rugged aesthetic, and the vehicle sits on 19-inch wheels with Bridgestone Dueler AT002 tires, specifically developed for this model.
The air intake on the engine hood prevents debris and stones from entering and damaging the engine during high-speed off-road driving. Even the rear diffuser has been redesigned to protect the engine oil sumps, gearbox, and other critical components.
Powering the Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato is a 5.2L naturally aspirated V10 engine that delivers 610 horsepower and 560 Nm of torque. This engine is paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and an all-wheel-drive system. The supercar can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds and reach a top speed of 260 km/h. It also features a new Rally driving mode for low-grip, slippery surfaces, along with Strada (street) and Sport modes.
While the Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato is capable of handling sandy, gravel, and dusty roads, it remains primarily designed for street driving. The interior is fully equipped, featuring black Alcantara seats, a central touchscreen, and a digital instrument cluster with an off-road-style display that includes a compass and steering angle indicator.
With only 1,499 units of the Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato produced for global sales, it stands as a direct competitor to the Porsche 911 Dakar, of which 1,001 units were manufactured. Currently, four Porsche 911 Dakars have been officially imported to Vietnam.
