For July 2024, Honda is offering promotional discounts on their vehicles, and the Accord is one of the models included in this month’s deals.
Similar to previous months, Honda is offering a cash discount of up to 220 million VND for the Accord in July 2024. This brings the price of this D-segment sedan down to 1.099 billion VND. The promotion will be valid for customers who sign a purchase contract and complete the full payment between July 5 and July 31, 2024.
This is the fourth consecutive month that Honda has offered a 220 million VND discount on the Accord, making it one of the models with the highest discounts in the Vietnamese market. Despite being a regular car, the Accord is receiving discounts comparable to luxury vehicles like BMW and Mercedes-Benz.
Unfortunately, these price reductions have not had a positive impact on the Accord’s sales performance. In May 2024, Honda sold only 4 Accords in Vietnam, a 20% decrease from the previous month. The cumulative sales for the first five months of this year stand at just 40 units. With these results, the Honda Accord is not only outperformed by its competitors in the same segment but also ranks among the lowest-selling cars in the entire market.
There are several reasons for the low sales of the Honda Accord. One factor is its high price, which stands at 1.319 billion VND. Additionally, the Accord is only available in one version, offering limited choices to customers. This, coupled with the decreasing popularity of D-segment sedans in Vietnam, has contributed to the model’s low sales figures.
The Honda Accord is highly regarded for its spacious interior and driving experience. It is powered by a 1.5L turbocharged 4-cylinder gasoline engine that produces 188 horsepower and 260 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) and offers two driving modes: Eco and Sport.
The Accord comes with a comprehensive list of features, including LED lighting all around, 18-inch alloy wheels, electrically adjustable and foldable side mirrors with turn indicators, automatic folding when locked, and automatic closing when reversing. The interior boasts power-adjustable front seats, a digital instrument cluster, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, a sunroof, an 8-speaker audio system, and dual-zone automatic climate control.
Lastly, the Honda Accord is equipped with advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) as part of the Honda Sensing package, which includes a collision mitigation braking system, adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow, automatic high-beam headlights, lane keeping assist, and road departure mitigation.
