This is not just the first Rolls-Royce Spectre to arrive in Vietnam and be handed over to its proud owner, but it is also the only luxury electric coupe currently available in the world. And for Minh "Nhựa" to experience this unique vehicle, the price is a steal compared to his previous purchases, coming in at just over 25 billion VND.

On the evening of June 30, 2024, businessman Pham Tran Nhat Minh, the only son of plastic industry tycoon Pham Van Muoi, also known as Minh “Nhua”, captured the media’s attention as the first person in Vietnam to take delivery of the Rolls-Royce Spectre.

This is not only the first Rolls-Royce Spectre to arrive in Vietnam for customer delivery, but it is also the only luxury electric coupe currently on sale worldwide. The price Minh “Nhua” paid for this car was also significantly lower than his previous purchases, at just over VND 25 billion.

At the delivery ceremony for the Rolls-Royce Spectre, Minh “Nhua” couldn’t hide his emotions as he recalled his journey with his wife of 13 years. This car is also considered a commemorative gift to mark the day he proposed to his partner.

The luxury Rolls-Royce Spectre owned by Minh “Nhua” is painted in white, exuding class and elegance befitting of this prestigious marque. White is also a color that Minh “Nhua” has chosen for several cars in his collection. The highlight of this particular Spectre is its illuminated logo, a feature found only on a select few cars in Vietnam.

On the legendary grille of a Rolls-Royce, this electric coupe features a Spirit of Ecstasy logo not made of the usual silver or gold-plated material but rather polycarbonate, which simply put, illuminates at night.

This is one of three options offered by the British luxury carmaker for the Spirit of Ecstasy logo, alongside the traditional silver and gold-plated versions. The polycarbonate Spirit of Ecstasy logo, made from transparent material, is even more eye-catching at night as it can illuminate and change colors.

At first glance, the Rolls-Royce Spectre’s exterior design might seem like a mere evolution of the Rolls-Royce Wraith, save for the redesigned headlights, daytime running lights, wheels, and taillights. However, these changes are not substantial enough to justify the claim that the Spectre represents a completely new era for the Rolls-Royce brand.

The most captivating feature of the Spectre’s front end is its alluring headlights, which are positioned lower than on any other Rolls-Royce model. Additionally, the daytime running lights are uniquely integrated above the headlights, sitting just below the top edge of the car’s distinctive Pantheon grille or what some might describe as a “heater” grille. Below the grille is a full-width air intake accented by a small splitter, and the iconic Spirit of Ecstasy hood ornament, revised to be 1.7 cm shorter, along with other subtle details. As a result, the car boasts an impressive drag coefficient of just 0.25Cd, making it the most aerodynamically efficient Rolls-Royce ever.

The Spectre’s profile exudes a sportier character than other models in the Rolls-Royce lineup, thanks to its athletic side skirts and boldly designed 23-inch wheels, which break free from the conventional styling typically seen on luxury cars.

The most striking feature at the rear is undoubtedly the full-width LED taillights, an unmistakable signature of the Rolls-Royce Spectre. Being a coupe, the Spectre features reverse-opening doors.

In terms of dimensions, the Rolls-Royce Spectre is a four-seat, two-door coupe with a length, width, and height of 5,453 mm, 2,080 mm, and 1,559 mm, respectively. It has a wheelbase of 3,210 mm, a turning radius of 12.7 m, and a curb weight of 2,975 kg.

The interior of the Rolls-Royce Spectre features decorative wooden doors made from a single piece of Canadel wood, precisely angled at 55 degrees to add a dynamic touch to the cabin. The elegant white exterior (Grace White) is complemented by a passionate red (Ardent Red) and white leather interior, showcasing exceptional craftsmanship that delights the senses.

Embroidery on the headrests, contrasting color stitching on the dashboard, and Peony Pink accents on the steering wheel’s decorative wood veneer and oak Tudor open-pore wood trim all contribute to an extraordinarily luxurious experience.

The carefully designed battery installation in the Rolls-Royce Spectre results in a flat floor, not only lowering the seating position but also providing additional functionality for the battery. The nearly 700 kg battery pack serves as a noise-reducing material, ensuring the quiet and comfortable ride that has become synonymous with the Rolls-Royce brand.

The Rolls-Royce Spectre embodies the brand’s decades of expertise, featuring a starry sky headliner and dashboard, similar to the Rolls-Royce Ghost, but with the word “Spectre” illuminated. The car even comes with an umbrella that matches the exterior color.

Minh “Nhua” chose a green and white color scheme for the interior, which looks sophisticated, but the copper-colored seat belts seem out of place. The dashboard retains the mysterious black hue, while the two-tone green and black steering wheel creates a striking contrast.

Powered by an electric motor, the newly delivered Rolls-Royce Spectre produces a maximum output of 577 horsepower and 900 Nm of torque. As the first electric car from Rolls-Royce, the Spectre can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.4 seconds and has a top speed of 250 km/h.

With a range of 515 kilometers according to the EPA test cycle in the US, the Rolls-Royce Spectre can easily cover the distance from Saigon to Nha Trang on a single charge. The British carmaker justifies this range by stating that their target customers typically own multiple cars and, therefore, do not rely solely on the Spectre for their daily commutes.
