The 6to6 Europe Tour 2024 supercar journey from Greece to Monaco in June witnessed an unfortunate incident where a Koenigsegg Jesko Attack “Nur Edition” was engulfed in flames, rendering it a total loss.
After a thorough investigation, CEO Christian von Koenigsegg has identified the cause of the fire as a faulty hydraulic line at the rear of the vehicle. As a precautionary measure, 28 owners of the Jesko worldwide were advised not to drive their cars until a fix could be implemented.
Taking responsibility, Koenigsegg acknowledged that the fire was due to a manufacturing issue and offered to replace the burnt vehicle. Furthermore, they announced an upcoming software update that will immediately disable the hydraulic system in case of any future leaks, ensuring the safety of their customers.
The Jesko Attack “Nur Edition” involved in the incident was owned by a Spanish billionaire who had taken delivery of the car just two weeks prior. With a price tag of over $4.1 million, the owner now faces a waiting period of 1 to 2.5 years for a replacement. It is unclear if any other options are available for the burnt-out car.
The Koenigsegg Jesko megacar is an engineering marvel, boasting a twin-turbocharged 5.0-liter V8 engine capable of producing an astonishing 1,603 horsepower when fueled with E85 biofuel. Even when running on regular gasoline, the Jesko still delivers an impressive 1,281 horsepower, coupled with a maximum torque of 1,500 Nm.
This immense power is transmitted through a revolutionary 9-speed Lightning Speed Transmission, propelling the car from 0 to 100 km/h in a breathtaking 2.5 seconds. The Jesko’s top speed is an awe-inspiring 482 km/h, cementing its status as one of the fastest production cars in the world.
