The Volkswagen Teramont X is a coupe-style SUV that was officially introduced to the Vietnamese market earlier this year in March. After almost four months, the vehicle is now offered with an attractive manufacturer discount for the first time.
According to Volkswagen, during July 2024, the Teramont X will come with a 50% road tax support. There are currently two versions of this model available in Vietnam: the Luxury and Platinum editions, priced at 1.998 billion VND and 2.168 billion VND, respectively. With the manufacturer’s promotion, customers can save up to 100-108 million VND, depending on the version they choose.
The Volkswagen Teramont X is currently one of the few coupe-style SUVs available in the Vietnamese market. Unlike its sibling, the Teramont, this vehicle is a product of the SAIC-Volkswagen joint venture and is imported from China.
Not only is the Teramont X more affordable than the Teramont, but it also boasts a more stylish and modern design. Developed on Volkswagen’s familiar MQB platform, this SUV can be considered a more budget-friendly alternative to the BMW X6 or Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe.
The Volkswagen Teramont X in Vietnam is equipped with notable exterior features such as the IQ. Light LED Matrix headlights with a two-tier structure and four adaptive lighting modes that can automatically switch and support blind spots. It also includes 3D LED taillights, hands-free tailgate operation with anti-trap protection and height adjustment, and 20-inch alloy wheels for the Luxury version and 21-inch for the Platinum version.
The Platinum version takes it up a notch with a host of exterior details finished in glossy black, including the radiator grille, air intake on the front bumper, central air intake, front mudguard trim, door trim, mirror caps, shark fin antenna, roof rails, taillight trim, roof spoiler, and rear bumper.
Despite its large size, the Volkswagen Teramont X accommodates a 5-seat configuration with two rows of seats. Its interior exudes a sense of sophistication with two-tone contrast leather upholstery, a laser-decorated dashboard featuring the “Teramont X” name, and an R-Line three-spoke multifunction steering wheel.

Additionally, this SUV offers a host of convenience features, including 8-way power-adjustable front seats with heating and cooling functions, a driver’s seat with 3-position memory, a fully digital 10.3-inch instrument cluster with three interfaces and 30 customizable colors, a 12-inch touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity, Bluetooth, and USB support, as well as gesture control. The Harman Kardon sound system delivers an immersive audio experience with 12 speakers and 700 watts of power. Other highlights include a 3-zone automatic climate control system, ambient lighting, and a panoramic sunroof.
Under the hood, the Volkswagen Teramont X is powered by a 2.0L TSI Turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that produces 220 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and a 4Motion all-wheel-drive system, enabling the SUV to reach a top speed of 200 km/h.
In terms of safety, the Teramont X is well-equipped with nine airbags, a 360-degree camera, hill start assist, electronic stability control, tire pressure monitoring, parking distance control, adaptive cruise control, pre-collision warning, emergency brake assist, lane change assist, and cross-traffic alert for reverse maneuvers.
