The elusive Koenigsegg Regera, owned by Vietnamese millionaire Hoang Kim Khanh, has recently resurfaced at the Hoa Lu border gate in Binh Phuoc province, sparking excitement among car enthusiasts across the nation. The million-dollar supercar had previously captivated audiences in Nha Trang, Khanh Hoa province, back in April, after which it seemingly vanished from public sight.
Speculations are rife among car enthusiasts that Hoang Kim Khanh is gearing up for a grand supercar event this weekend, featuring his impressive collection valued at over VND 350 billion. The question on everyone’s mind is whether the Koenigsegg Regera will make it through the necessary procedures in time to join the prestigious gathering.
Fortunately, the supercar has been spotted at Hoang Kim Khanh’s residence, as confirmed by a Vietnamese website specializing in supercar news. Prior to this, the individual in charge of handling the paperwork for Khanh’s Cambodian-plated supercars shared an image of the Regera loaded onto a specialized transport vehicle in a Cambodian showroom. After a period of time in Cambodia for license plate renewal, the Koenigsegg Regera has finally returned to Vietnam.
The million-dollar Koenigsegg Regera was transported on a rescue vehicle to the Hoa Lu border gate and then to Hoang Kim Khanh’s garage. After its long journey, the supercar underwent a thorough cleaning, ready to dazzle and captivate car enthusiasts and passersby in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, this coming weekend.
Hoang Kim Khanh acquired the Koenigsegg Regera from a specialized supercar dealership in the United States for a price of $2.9 million, equivalent to VND 69 billion. This megacar was then imported to Cambodia, where it took nearly six months to obtain a Cambodian license plate. In January 2022, the vehicle was transported through the Tay Ninh border gate and eventually made its way to Khanh’s residence.
The Koenigsegg Regera, a million-dollar Swedish masterpiece, boasts a hybrid powertrain that combines a 5.0-liter V8 biturbo engine with three electric motors. This combination delivers a staggering output of over 1,500 horsepower and a maximum torque of 2,000 Nm.
The supercar is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.8 seconds and can reach a top speed of 400 km/h. Additionally, the Regera can generate downforce of up to 450 kg when traveling at 250 km/h.
