The Kia Seltos Gets a Turbo Version, Priced at 749 Million VND

The 1.5 Turbo Luxury variant of the Kia Seltos retains the potent 1.5L turbo engine found in the GT-Line version, offering an exhilarating drive. However, this variant takes a step back in terms of safety features, forgoing some of the advanced safety technologies present in other trims.

The all-new Kia Seltos 1.5 Turbo Luxury has arrived in Vietnam. This sleek SUV boasts a turbocharged 1.5L engine, delivering an impressive 158 horsepower and 253 Nm of torque. With a price tag of 749 million VND, it offers a more affordable option compared to the top-of-the-line GT-Line trim, while still retaining the same powerful performance.

Kia has just introduced the 2024 Seltos 1.5 Turbo Luxury to the Vietnamese market, offering a more affordable option for customers. Compared to the range-topping GT-Line variant, the new trim features the same 1.5L turbocharged engine but comes with a reduced set of ADAS features and a more attractive price point, 50 million VND lower than its premium sibling.

Priced at 749 million VND, the Kia Seltos 1.5 Turbo Luxury sits between the GT-Line (799 million VND) and the 1.5 Premium in terms of pricing. Despite being a more affordable option, it still packs a punch under the hood with its turbocharged 1.5L engine, capable of producing 158 horsepower and a maximum torque of 253 Nm. The engine is mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, delivering power to the front wheels, ensuring a smooth and responsive driving experience.

However, to achieve this competitive pricing, some advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) features have been omitted from the 1.5 Turbo Luxury trim. These include lane-keeping assist, forward-collision warning and avoidance assist, safe exit assist, and driver attention warning. These advanced safety features are exclusively available on the top-of-the-line GT-Line variant, justifying its premium price tag.

The all-new 2024 Kia Seltos makes its debut in Vietnam, offering a fresh new option in the competitive SUV market. With its modern design and impressive features, the Seltos is poised to captivate consumers seeking style, performance, and value.

Despite the exclusion of certain ADAS features, the Kia Seltos 1.5 Turbo Luxury still boasts an impressive array of safety equipment. It comes standard with six airbags, cruise control, and speed limit assistance (MSLA), as well as blind-spot detection (BSD) for added peace of mind. Additionally, electronic parking brakes, front and rear parking sensors, and a 360-degree camera system further enhance the driving experience and make maneuvering in tight spaces a breeze.

With the introduction of the 1.5 Turbo Luxury trim, the 2024 Kia Seltos now offers five distinct variants in Vietnam, catering to a wider range of customer preferences and budgets. Priced competitively from 599 million to 799 million VND, the Seltos presents a compelling option in the highly contested B-segment SUV market.

As of April, the Kia Seltos has sold a cumulative total of 1,539 units in Vietnam, making it the third best-selling model for the brand, following the Kia Sonet (2,452 units) and the Kia Carnival (1,584 units). While it trails behind competitors like the Mitsubishi Xforce, Honda HR-V, Toyota Yaris Cross, and Hyundai Creta in the B-SUV segment, its competitive pricing and feature offering make it a strong contender.

With a price range of 599-799 million VND, the Kia Seltos goes head-to-head with rivals such as the Mitsubishi Xforce (599-680 million VND), Toyota Yaris Cross (650-765 million VND), and the recently adjusted Hyundai Creta (599-699 million VND). It’s worth noting that the Seltos offers a more powerful turbocharged engine option, setting it apart from some of its competitors.
