The Maserati MC20 is not just a supercar, but also a luxurious sports car, launched by the Italian brand in 2020. Two years later, in May 2022, Maserati unveiled the MC20 Cielo, a convertible variant of the MC20. While it shares the same sleek design and powerful twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine, the Cielo adds a unique twist with its retractable hardtop and electrochromic glass roof.

This captivating convertible immediately caught the attention of Vietnamese celebrity couple Lương Bằng Quang and Ngân 98, who proudly added it to their collection. Prior to this purchase, they had never owned a sports car, let alone a supercar as accessible as the Maserati MC20 Cielo. In fact, there is currently only one such vehicle in all of Vietnam.

According to sources, this stunning convertible was imported for female DJ Ngân 98 and her partner, musician Lương Bằng Quang, through official channels. With taxes and fees included, the final price tag for this beauty could reach nearly 20 billion VND.

The exterior of the car is painted in a striking yellow, accented by numerous glossy black details on the front and rear bumpers, side skirts, and roof. The stylish wheels feature a two-tone design, combining silver and black for a truly unique look.

Step inside the cabin, and you’ll find a creamy interior with black-painted door sills and eye-catching carbon fiber details. Compared to the nearly seven Maserati MC20 coupes already in Vietnam, this convertible stands out with its center console, which includes two additional buttons for operating the convertible top.

In Italian, “Cielo” translates to “sky,” a fitting name for a convertible with a unique roof mechanism. The MC20 Cielo boasts an electrochromic glass roof that can instantly switch from transparent to opaque with the press of a button on the central display, thanks to Polymer-Dispersed Liquid Crystal (PDLC) technology.

One of the most impressive features of the MC20 Cielo is its retractable hardtop, which Maserati claims has the fastest opening and closing speed in its class, taking just 12 seconds. Drivers can enjoy the open-air experience whenever they please, even while driving, as long as the speed doesn’t exceed 50 km/h.

Maserati assures that the convertible design has no impact on the car’s aerodynamics or torsional rigidity. When the top is down, it neatly folds into a dedicated compartment above the engine, giving the MC20 Cielo a distinct look compared to its coupe sibling. The trident logo on the engine cover is crafted from matte titanium. Despite being 65 kg heavier than the coupe, the Cielo makes up for it with its convenient retractable hardtop and added privacy or sun-soaking options.

Under the hood, the MC20 Cielo shares the same engine as its coupe counterpart: a 3.0-liter V6 twin-turbocharged gasoline engine that delivers an impressive 621 horsepower at 7,500 rpm and 730 Nm of torque at 3,000 rpm. This powerful engine is paired with an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and a rear-wheel-drive system that incorporates Formula 1-derived technologies.

With this setup, the Maserati MC20 Cielo can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in under 2.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 325 km/h, making it a true supercar in every sense of the word.
