A-Segment Sales Table for June 2024 (units: vehicles)

Toyota Wigo: 299 units sold

The best-selling A-segment car in June 2024 was not the usual Hyundai Grand i10, but rather the Toyota Wigo. Last month, the Toyota model sold 299 units, achieving growth of 49.5%. As a result, the Toyota Wigo climbed to the top spot in the A-segment. Cumulatively, for the first six months of the year, the Toyota Wigo has sold 1,286 units, ranking second in the segment.

Toyota Wigo

The Toyota Wigo in Vietnam is currently offered in two versions, with prices ranging from 360 to 405 million VND. In addition to its reasonable price, this Japanese model boasts notable features such as LED headlights, electrically adjustable and foldable mirrors, 14-inch alloy wheels, a 7-inch central touchscreen, and a four-speaker audio system. Moreover, it is equipped with rare safety features in this segment, including a Blind Spot Monitor (BSM) and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert (RCTA) system.

The Toyota Wigo is powered by a new 1.2L gasoline engine, paired with either a 5-speed manual or a Dual-CVT automatic transmission. This engine delivers a maximum output of 87 horsepower and 113 Nm of torque.

Hyundai Grand i10: 132 units sold

The upgraded Hyundai Grand i10 was officially launched in the Vietnamese market in early June 2024. However, this new version failed to boost the model’s sales. On the contrary, the Hyundai Grand i10 performed worse than in May 2024, with a sales decline of 58.6% to only 132 units. With these figures, the Hyundai Grand i10 slipped to second place in the A-segment. Nevertheless, when considering the cumulative sales for the first six months of 2024, the Hyundai Grand i10 remains the “king” of the segment.

Hyundai Grand i10

The new Hyundai Grand i10 continues to offer six versions, with prices ranging from 360 to 455 million VND, just like its predecessor. The upgraded model maintains the two body styles: sedan and hatchback. It features mild design improvements, including a redesigned grille, front bumper, LED daytime running lights, alloy wheels, and taillights.

Meanwhile, the engine of this A-segment model remains unchanged. It still utilizes the 1.2L Kappa gasoline engine, producing a maximum output of 83 horsepower and 114 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with either a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic transmission.

Kia Morning: 77 units sold

Unlike its compatriot rival, the Kia Morning, exhibited a slight growth in June 2024. It sold 77 units, reflecting a 4% increase. However, the Kia Morning’s sales figures for June 2024 and the first six months of the year remain the lowest in the A-segment.

Kia Morning

The Kia Morning in Vietnam is currently available in five versions, with prices ranging from 349 to 424 million VND. Compared to its competitors, this model is more affordable, but it also falls short in terms of equipment. The Kia Morning is equipped with halogen headlights and does not offer cruise control.

Additionally, this Korean model comes with features such as LED daytime running lights, LED taillights, electrically adjustable and foldable mirrors with turn signals, 14- to 15-inch wheels, an analog instrument cluster with a multi-information display, leather seats, an 8-inch central screen, a four- to six-speaker audio system, and automatic climate control.

The Kia Morning in Vietnam is powered by a 1.25L Kappa gasoline engine, delivering a maximum output of 83 horsepower and 120 Nm of torque. It is paired with either a 4-speed automatic or a 5-speed manual transmission.
