Mitsubishi Xpander: 1,236 cars
The Mitsubishi Xpander is one of the few MPV models that sold fewer units in June 2024 compared to May 2024. With 1,236 cars sold, a 30% decrease, it still outperformed its competitors and led the MPV segment.
For the first six months of the year, the Mitsubishi Xpander achieved a sales volume of 7,773 cars, topping the MPV segment specifically and the entire Vietnamese automobile market in general. This demonstrates the enduring appeal of this Japanese-made MPV.

In July 2024, Mitsubishi is offering a 50% discount on registration fees for the Xpander, equivalent to a value of 28-35 million VND. Additionally, the car comes with a gift of a 360-degree camera worth 20 million VND for the AT Premium and Cross versions. The MT version will receive a rearview camera worth 2.5 million VND.
The Mitsubishi Xpander is currently available in Vietnam with four trim levels, priced between 560 and 698 million VND. Its allure stems from its eye-catching exterior design, spacious interior, and adequate convenience features.
The Mitsubishi Xpander sold in Vietnam is powered by a 1.5L 4-cylinder gasoline engine that produces 105 horsepower and 141 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a front-wheel drive system and either a 4-speed automatic or 5-speed manual transmission.
Toyota Veloz Cross: 670 cars
June 2024 was a successful month for the Toyota Veloz Cross, with a sales growth of 10.9% to 670 cars. As a result, this Toyota model ranked second in the MPV segment. However, compared to the Mitsubishi Xpander, the Veloz Cross sold only half as much. In the first six months of the year, Vietnamese customers purchased a total of 2,767 Toyota Veloz Cross vehicles, making it the second most popular MPV.

Similar to its competitor, the Toyota Veloz Cross also has official promotions for July 2024. Accordingly, customers who purchase this MPV will receive a 50% discount on registration fees, along with a 0% interest rate for the first six months.
The Toyota Veloz Cross is currently priced between 638 and 660 million VND. Although its starting price is higher than that of the Mitsubishi Xpander, this Toyota model has competitive advantages such as a reputable brand and advanced ADAS safety features.
This MPV is equipped with a 1.5L 4-cylinder gasoline engine that generates 105 horsepower and 138 Nm of torque, paired with a CVT transmission.
Hyundai Stargazer: 542 cars
Like the previous month, the Hyundai Stargazer continued to grow in sales during June 2024. With 542 cars sold, it achieved a 22.1% increase compared to the previous month. This brings the total sales volume for the first six months of the year to 1,116 cars.

In May 2024, the Hyundai Stargazer introduced a new trim level with prices ranging from 489 to 599 million VND. It is currently one of the most affordable MPVs in the Vietnamese market.
In addition to the lower price, the Hyundai Stargazer also offers an X version with enhanced design and features, including electronic parking brakes, auto hold function, rear disc brakes, and front collision sensors, among others.
The vehicle is powered by a 1.5L Smartstream G 4-cylinder naturally aspirated engine that delivers 115 horsepower at 6,300 rpm and 144 Nm of torque at 4,500 rpm. The engine is paired with an intelligent iVT continuously variable transmission and front-wheel drive.

The rise of the Hyundai Stargazer pushed the Toyota Innova Cross down to fourth place in the MPV segment. With 540 cars sold, it achieved a growth rate of 17.1%. From the beginning of 2024 until now, a total of 2,075 units have been sold, ranking fourth in the MPV segment. Additionally, the Toyota Innova Cross is one of the best-selling hybrid vehicles in Vietnam, with cumulative sales of 899 units.

The Toyota Innova Cross is currently available in two versions: gasoline and hybrid, with prices ranging from 810 to 990 million VND. The two versions do not differ significantly in terms of equipment. The most notable difference lies in their engines.
The gasoline version is powered by a 2.0L 4-cylinder engine that produces 172 horsepower and 205 Nm of torque, paired with a Direct Shift CVT automatic transmission. On the other hand, the hybrid version combines a 150-horsepower gasoline engine with a 111-horsepower electric motor and a CVT automatic transmission.
Kia Carnival: 447 cars
The Kia Carnival maintained its position as the fifth best-selling MPV in June 2024, with 447 cars sold and a slight growth rate of 1.13%. Its cumulative sales for the first half of the year reached 2,473 units, ranking third in the segment.

The Kia Carnival is currently available in Vietnam with seven trim levels, priced between 1.189 and 1.759 billion VND. Despite its premium price tag, it remains popular due to its stylish design, spacious interior, and diverse convenience and safety features.
The Kia Carnival offers two engine options in Vietnam: a 2.2L Smartstream 4-cylinder DOHC diesel engine that produces 199 horsepower and 440 Nm of torque, and a 3.5L Smartstream V6 gasoline engine that delivers 268 horsepower and 331 Nm of torque. Both engines are paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission.

Ranked behind the Carnival is its sibling from the same brand, the Kia Carens. In June, Vietnamese customers purchased 368 Carens vehicles, representing a 25.5% increase.

The Kia Carens is available in Vietnam with seven trim levels, priced between 589 and 779 million VND. In addition to its diverse trim options, it is also one of the few 6-seater MPVs in the Vietnamese market.
This MPV offers three engine choices: a 1.5L naturally aspirated gasoline engine, a 1.4L turbocharged gasoline engine, and a 1.5L diesel engine. These engines produce between 113 and 138 horsepower and 144 to 250 Nm of torque. They are paired with manual transmissions, 6-speed automatic transmissions, intelligent iVT continuously variable transmissions, or 7-speed DCT automatic transmissions.

In the first six months of 2024, the Honda BR-V lost its sales promotion program, which somewhat affected its sales performance. June 2024 was no exception, with 248 cars sold, a 3.1% decrease. Cumulative sales for the first half of the year stood at 1,552 units.

In July 2024, the Honda BR-V returned to the sales promotion race with a 50% discount on registration fees for both versions, helping customers save between 33 and 35 million VND. This program is expected to boost the sales of this Japanese model.
The Honda BR-V is priced between 661 and 705 million VND in Vietnam. While its price is not its strong suit, the BR-V makes up for it with its attractive MPV-SUV crossover design and standard ADAS safety features.
The Honda BR-V is powered by a 1.5L i-VTEC 4-cylinder DOHC gasoline engine that produces 119 horsepower and 145 Nm of torque. It is paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) and front-wheel drive.

Similar to its sibling, the Veloz Cross, the Toyota Avanza Premio improved its sales performance in June, reaching 178 cars. However, its cumulative sales for the first half of the year were modest, totaling 927 units.
