Among the well-known supercar enthusiasts in the ASEAN region, Tunku Idris Iskandar Ismail, the Prince of Johor in Malaysia, stands out for his passion for exotic cars. The prince is known to own hundreds of automobiles, but he only showcases the most exclusive and expensive supercars, such as the McLaren P1, McLaren Senna, McLaren Elva, and Pagani Huayra. And now, he has added another masterpiece to his collection: the Ferrari Monza SP2.

Although the photo shared by TTJ appears to be taken in a foreign showroom, it is highly likely that the Ferrari Monza SP2 will soon arrive in Malaysia, specifically in the state of Johor. Prior to this, Prince Tunku Idris Iskandar Ismail had already surprised many by owning a unique McLaren Elva, a four-seater without any windshield, and now he has added the Ferrari Monza SP2 to his collection.

During the Capital Markets Day event held in September 2018 at the Maranello factory in Italy, Ferrari unveiled a pair of special edition supercars: the Monza SP1 and SP2. Interestingly, only 499 units of each model were produced. If a customer chooses to purchase the Ferrari Monza SP1, they are not allowed to buy the Ferrari Monza SP2 as well.

The Ferrari Monza SP1 features a single seat for the driver, while the new Ferrari Monza SP2 shared by the Prince of Johor offers an additional seat for a companion. The Ferrari Monza SP2 has a unique design without a roof, which can be a challenge if the driver gets caught in unexpected rain.

The Ferrari Monza SP2 features a fascinating virtual windshield and no roof. Its design takes inspiration from the Barchetta cars of the past, especially the 1948 166 MM and the 750 Monza of the 1950s. The doors of the Ferrari Monza SP2 open forward in a scissor-style, making it easier for the driver to enter and exit the cockpit.

Despite its classic appearance, the Ferrari Monza SP2’s chassis and its V12 engine, with a displacement of 6.5 liters, are derived from the modern Ferrari 812 Superfast. This powerful engine produces a maximum output of 809 horsepower, an increase of 10 horsepower, and a maximum torque of 719 Nm, an improvement of 1 Nm over the Ferrari 812 Superfast.

With this potent engine, the Ferrari Monza SP2 can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.9 seconds. It takes an additional 5 seconds to reach 200 km/h, and the car can eventually attain a top speed of approximately 300 km/h.
