In late June, Mercedes-Benz unveiled the Mercedes-AMG C63 S E Performance to its domestic customers, with a starting price of 4.9 billion VND. The car boasts an impressive 671 horsepower.
The first Mercedes-AMG C63 S E Performance with Ho Chi Minh City license plates has been spotted, and interestingly, the same customer also purchased a tiny but powerful Mercedes-Benz GLA45 earlier this year.
To match the prestige of the high-performance sedan, the owner of the Mercedes-AMG C63 S E Performance also acquired a lucky license plate with all 8s and a 9, reading 51L-808.99, which they won at auction for just 40 million VND.
The Mercedes-AMG C63 S E Performance is the second high-performance variant of the luxury C-Class sedan to be sold in Vietnam this year. Prior to this model, Mercedes-Benz Vietnam introduced the assembled Mercedes-AMG C 43.
The car’s most notable feature is its plug-in hybrid powertrain. It is equipped with a 2.0L 4-cylinder gasoline engine that produces 469 horsepower at 6,725 rpm and 545 Nm of torque between 5,250 and 5,500 rpm.
The engine is paired with a rear-mounted electric motor that generates 201 horsepower, along with a 6.1 kWh battery pack. With this tiny battery, the Mercedes-AMG C63 S E Performance can travel up to 13 km and reach a maximum speed of 125 km/h on electric power alone. The battery can be charged using an AC charger with a 3.7 kW capacity.
Combining the power of the engine and motor, the Mercedes-AMG C63 S E Performance delivers a total output of 671 horsepower and 1,020 Nm of torque. This enables the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds and reach a top speed of 250 km/h or 280 km/h.
In addition to its impressive performance, the car also features a 4Matic+ all-wheel-drive system, a 9-speed automatic transmission, and a wet clutch. Weighing in at 2,036 kg, the Mercedes-AMG C63 S E Performance has a fuel consumption rate of 6.92 liters per 100 km. It is also equipped with rear-axle steering, carbon brakes, adaptive suspension, and the AMG Dynamics drive mode system as standard.
Externally, the car stands out with distinctive features such as square dual exhaust pipes, custom multi-spoke wheels, enlarged air intakes, a rear spoiler, AMG logos replacing the traditional three-pointed star emblem, and “Turbo E Performance” lettering on the front fenders.
