On the morning of July 22, 2024, the trial of Mr. Trinh Van Quyet took place. In court, the former FLC chairman stated that he estimated his assets to be VND 5,000 billion, and he hoped that the court would facilitate his compensation for damages amounting to VND 4,300 billion. Many people were surprised by Trinh Van Quyet’s massive wealth.
Prior to his arrest, the former FLC chairman, Mr. Trinh Van Quyet, often traveled in luxurious and expensive cars, including super-luxury and SUV vehicles worth trillions of VND. Among these, many people are likely familiar with the one-of-a-kind Rolls-Royce Phantom Sacred Fire, a car uniquely created for him by the Rolls-Royce company.
The price of the Rolls-Royce Phantom Sacred Fire owned by the FLC chairman was not disclosed, but it certainly couldn’t have been lower than VND 50 billion, a super record-breaking price for a car at the time the Rolls-Royce Phantom “Sacred Fire” arrived in Vietnam.
The Rolls-Royce Phantom “Sacred Fire” draws inspiration from the Dong Son bronze drums, featuring this symbol on its exterior. Additionally, British artisans added 18 cranes, symbolizing the 18 generations of Hung Kings. Inside the cabin, each passenger door features nine cranes, custom wood trim, and Dong Son drum symbols embroidered on the headrests.
Finally, Mr. Trinh Van Quyet opted for a privacy partition between the driver and passenger compartments of the Rolls-Royce Phantom “Sacred Fire.” It took the British luxury car manufacturer ten months to create this unique car for Mr. Trinh Van Quyet.
In addition to the Rolls-Royce Phantom “Sacred Fire,” Mr. Trinh Van Quyet also owned another Rolls-Royce car that was also unique in Vietnam: the Golden Ghost. This car was customized by the renowned German tuning company Real Gold Group, which gold-plated various exterior details, including the grille, door handles, Rolls-Royce logo on the sides, and stainless steel trim strips, while contrasting these with the car’s red paint.
Moreover, the super-luxury Rolls-Royce Ghost’s hood and multi-spoke rims were painted in matte gold. This gold-plated Rolls-Royce Ghost belongs to the first-generation Series I, powered by a twin-turbocharged V12 engine with a displacement of 6.6 liters, producing a maximum output of 562 horsepower and a peak torque of 780 Nm. Combined with an 8-speed automatic ZF transmission, the Rolls-Royce Ghost accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in approximately 5 seconds, reaching a top speed of 250 km/h.
Both Rolls-Royce cars shared a similar fate, as they were seized by the bank and put up for auction but failed to find a buyer. Eventually, a showroom specializing in luxury car sales in Hanoi purchased them, and while the Ghost has found a new owner, the Rolls-Royce Phantom “Sacred Fire” is still awaiting its next proprietor.
In Mr. Trinh Van Quyet’s collection of hundred-billion-dong cars, there were also two Maybach super-luxury cars. One of them was the Maybach 62S, a special version of the Maybach 62, featuring an exterior with 11 grille slats instead of the standard 23. The interior of the 62S features a glass partition between the front and rear seats, providing added privacy for its occupants.
The Maybach 62S is equipped with a V12 engine with a displacement of 5.5 liters, similar to the standard version, but this engine produces a maximum output of 620 horsepower, an increase of 77 horsepower. This super-luxury car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds and has a top speed of 250 km/h.
The second car is the Mercedes-Maybach S600 Pullman, an extremely expensive and limited-edition model. Mr. Quyet’s Mercedes-Maybach S600 Pullman, spotted on the road with the license plate 30F, likely cost him over VND 60 billion. This super-luxury car impresses with its 6.4-meter length and four windows, always carefully shielded by curtains to ensure the privacy of its occupants.
The interior of the Mercedes-Maybach Pullman is equipped with four seats, with the two rear rows facing each other and capable of reclining 43.5 degrees. It also features electrically adjustable footrests and seats upholstered in Nappa leather with a quilted pattern, combined with black glossy Designo wood trim, reminiscent of a piano.
The Mercedes-Maybach S600 Pullman owned by the FLC Group chairman is powered by a twin-turbocharged V12 engine with a displacement of 6.0 liters, producing 530 horsepower and a peak torque of 830 Nm, similar to the Mercedes-Maybach S600. The Maybach S600 Pullman accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.4 seconds and has a top speed limited to 250 km/h.
In addition to the aforementioned cars, the FLC’s garage also housed two expensive luxury SUVs: the Lexus LX570 with license plates 30F and 30H. One of them is a standard model, while the other is the 2021 Lexus LX570 Super Sport. Impressive not only in design, the “land cruiser” Lexus LX570 is also equipped with a V8 engine with a displacement of 5.7 liters, generating a maximum output of 362 horsepower and a peak torque of 530 Nm at 3,200 rpm.
Combined with an 8-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive, the Lexus LX570 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.7 seconds. It is estimated that Mr. Trinh Van Quyet spent no less than VND 19 billion to acquire these two “land cruiser” Lexus LX570 vehicles for his personal use.
