Land Rover kicked off 2023 with the official launch of the 2024 Range Rover Velar, showcasing impressive upgrades from its predecessor. This mid-life refresh has now made its way to Vietnam, with local dealerships revealing its arrival in Q4 of 2024.
According to sources, the 2024 Range Rover Velar is expected to start at 4.2 billion VND. Customers can already place their orders, with deliveries anticipated by the end of the year.
Details on the specific variants offered in Vietnam are scarce, but in Europe, the Velar offers six engine options: P250, P340, P400, P400e, D300, and D400. Notably, the P400e plug-in hybrid (PHEV) system has been upgraded with a larger 19.2 kWh lithium-ion battery, up from 13.6 kWh. This extends the electric-only range to 64 kilometers, an increase of 11 kilometers.
The new battery also supports 50 kW DC fast charging, reducing charging time to just 30 minutes for a 0-80% charge. Using the standard 7 kW AC charger, a full charge can be achieved in 2.5 hours.
In terms of design, the 2024 Range Rover Velar receives subtle updates to its headlight pattern, grille, and rear bumper. Two new exterior color options, Varesine Blue and Zadar Grey, further enhance its visual appeal.
The most significant changes are found in the cabin, highlighted by a sweeping 11.4-inch curved touchscreen that controls all in-car features. The Pivi Pro 7 infotainment system supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integration and allows over-the-air software updates via WiFi.
The 2024 Range Rover Velar boasts one of the quietest interiors in its class, thanks to active noise-cancellation technology and the Meridian 3D Surround Sound System with 17 speakers. A host of interior upgrades are available, including Kvadrat wool-blend and Ultrafabrics-trimmed seats, chrome or copper finishings on the steering wheel and dashboard, and Shadow Grey Ash wood or aluminum trim on the center console.
