The world’s largest Gumball 3000 supercar rally is just two months away, and supercars from all over the globe are being shipped to Vietnam as we speak. Among them is a collection of 18 supercars from a prominent Vietnamese enthusiast that is sure to impress.
The man behind this impressive display is none other than Dang Le Nguyen Vu, Chairman of Trung Nguyen, one of Asia’s top car collectors. Mr. Vu has confirmed that he will be bringing 15 supercars, including a Bugatti Veyron and a Ford GT, with the highlight being the Ford GT ’67 Heritage Edition.
Gumball 3000: A Glimpse at the Ford GT ’67 Heritage Edition, Valued at Over $3.5 Million
A recent video surfaced, causing a stir among car enthusiasts. It showed a Trung Nguyen tow truck transporting the million-dollar Ford GT ’67 Heritage Edition supercar through a province in the Central Highlands region, en route to Mr. Vu’s garage in Thu Duc City.
This is the first time the car has been seen in almost two years since Mr. Vu acquired it for his collection. His Ford GT ’67 Heritage Edition is one of only 39 produced globally and features a unique color scheme of white with light blue accents and black “UN” lettering. In contrast to the standard Ford GT’s light blue and white livery, these two Ford GTs are valued at over $6 million combined.
The Ford GT ’67 Heritage Edition typically commands a price of over $1 million on the international market. Mr. Vu’s car, which had only 12 miles on the odometer, was previously listed for resale at $1.26 million. This car is practically brand new and is intended for collectors.
The car arrived in Vietnam in May 2021 and found its first owner a year later, bearing the license plate 51K-339.39, considered a lucky number in Vietnamese culture. However, it was sold again a few months later, and at the beginning of 2023, Mr. Vu purchased it to pair with his standard Ford GT, ensuring they were together in his collection.
The Ford GT ’67 Heritage Edition is powered by a 3.5-liter V6 EcoBoost engine, the most potent engine Ford has ever produced. This powerhouse delivers a staggering 647 horsepower to the rear wheels through a 7-speed PowerShift dual-clutch transmission. The Ford GT ’67 Heritage Edition is capable of reaching a top speed of 216 mph.
