The VinFast VF3 is one of the most anticipated electric vehicles in the domestic market. As the most affordable VinFast model yet, this compact car is generating a lot of interest, especially since it will be the brand’s most affordable offering and will feature an electric motor.
Recently leaked specifications from a registration sticker have revealed some intriguing details. The VF3 is reported to weigh 857 kg without batteries and 1,157 kg with a full load. It has a power output of 30 kW and a nominal voltage of 358.4 V. The car will be fitted with 175/75R16 tires, indicating a 16-inch wheel size.
But perhaps the most impressive specification is its energy consumption. The VF3 boasts an incredibly low energy consumption of just 83.3 Wh/km, making it the most energy-efficient car in Vietnam. The Wuling Hongguang Mini EV, which consumes 88 Wh/km, is a close second.
VinFast began accepting reservations for the VF3 on May 13, and the response has been phenomenal. In just 66 hours, they received 27,649 orders for this compact electric vehicle. The VF3 is available with either a leased battery, starting at 235 million VND, or with a purchased battery, priced at 315 million VND.
The VF3 is powered by a rear-mounted electric motor that delivers a maximum output of 32 kW (approximately 43 horsepower) and 110 Nm of torque, propelling the car from 0 to 50 km/h in just 5.3 seconds. The motor is paired with a lithium-ion battery pack offering a usable capacity of 18.64 kWh, resulting in a range of 210 km on a single charge according to the NEDC standard. Charging times are impressive, with a slow charge from 10% to 70% taking just 5 hours and a quick charge taking only 36 minutes.
