On May 28, the Ministry of Finance once again proposed reducing 36 fees by 10-50%. Among these proposed reductions, a 50% reduction in registration fees for domestically assembled cars is set to take effect from July 1 this year. Tri Thức – Znews presents five attractive and affordable sedans to consider during this upcoming period of reduced registration fees.

Toyota Vios and Hyundai Accent: Popular Choices

The two best-selling sedans in the B-segment are undoubtedly highly anticipated choices for many car buyers during this period of reduced fees. At present, both models have unique strengths that attract distinct customer segments.

The Toyota Vios has been the leading model in the B-segment sedan market for almost a decade. With a strong, well-established brand, it has weathered many fluctuations in sales and remains a top choice for families looking for their first car.

The 2023 facelift version of the Toyota Vios doesn’t differ significantly from its predecessor. However, the notable upgrade is the TSS safety package offered on the highest trim level. For the first time, the Vios boasts features like forward-collision warning, lane departure warning, and Cruise Control. Other safety features include seven airbags, electronic stability control, and hill-start assist.

Earlier this year, Toyota Vietnam implemented a price adjustment beneficial to customers. After this change, the Vios is competitively priced between 458-545 million VND, depending on the trim level. In addition to the manufacturer’s attractive pricing, dealerships also offer exclusive discounts.

According to a survey by Tri Thức – Znews, dealerships are offering additional discounts of 10-15 million VND for customers who purchase and complete their transactions during promotional periods. According to sales consultants, these incentives are separate from the dealership and are offered by the sales staff from their commissions to attract more buyers.

Meanwhile, Hyundai Accent, the Korean brand, is also offering a 50% discount on registration fees for older models, amounting to approximately 23-27.5 million VND, depending on the trim level.

The new generation Hyundai Accent, launched in Vietnam at the end of May, has captured the interest of a large number of consumers. In addition to exterior refinements, the 2024 Accent also receives a power boost.

It is equipped with a 1.5L SmartStream G engine that delivers 115 horsepower and 144 Nm of torque. Compared to its predecessor, the 2024 Accent offers 15 more horsepower and 12 Nm more torque. With four trim levels available, the Accent is competitively priced from 439-569 million VND.

Kia K3 and Mazda3: Thaco’s Dynamic Duo

Both the Kia K3 and Mazda3 are distributed by Thaco in Vietnam and are excellent choices to consider during this anticipated period of reduced registration fees.

Introduced to the Vietnamese market in 2003 as a replacement for the Mazda 323, the Mazda3 quickly gained popularity. Five years later, the Kia K3 was launched, and both models became top-selling sedans in the C-segment.

As of the end of April this year, Kia K3 has sold 823 units, making it the second best-selling model in its segment for the month. Mazda3 leads the C-segment sedan group, recording impressive sales of 1,316 units in the first four months, despite market fluctuations.

According to the manufacturer, the Kia K3 currently offers discounts of up to 20 million VND. Specifically, the 1.6 Turbo trim, originally priced at 734 million VND, is now reduced to 714 million VND. The 2.0 Premium trim has been discounted from 639 million VND to 619 million VND, while the other trim levels are priced between 549-599 million VND.

The Mazda3 has a listed price range of 579-679 million VND. According to a sales consultant at a Mazda dealership in Ho Chi Minh City, the showroom has a 2023 VIN Mazda3 in red, offering a discount of 30 million VND. Additionally, customers will receive a complimentary accessory package.

For 2024 VIN vehicles, the dealership assists customers in placing orders at the listed price, with an additional discount of 5 million VND, and a deposit to take advantage of the government’s registration fee incentive. According to the sales consultant, dealerships nationwide have reduced promotional programs, so interested customers should act quickly to secure these benefits.

Honda Accord: The C-Segment Standout

In the D-segment sedan category, the Honda Accord may not boast the highest sales compared to rivals like the Kia K5, Mazda6, or Toyota Camry, but it stands out with some of the deepest discounts in its segment.

Powered by a 1.5L turbocharged engine that produces 192 horsepower and 260 Nm of torque, the Accord delivers a dynamic driving experience. Coupled with the advanced safety features of Honda Sensing, the Accord appeals to customers who value both a luxurious design and a powerful driving performance, all for a price under one billion VND.

Currently, dealerships and the manufacturer are offering discounts of up to 220 million VND on this model. Specifically, the white Accord, originally priced at 1.329 billion VND, is now reduced to 1.109 billion VND. The silver or black versions, previously priced at 1.319 billion VND, are now available for 1.099 billion VND.

In addition to the manufacturer’s incentives, dealerships offer additional discounts of 5-10 million VND, depending on the trim level, to stimulate sales. Customers also receive complimentary accessory packages, including floor mats, dashcams, and souvenirs.
