Unveiling the Equipment Variations: A Deep Dive into the Two Versions of the BYD Seal Now Available in Vietnam

On July 18, 2024, three BYD models, the Dolphin, Atto 3, and Seal, were officially launched in the Vietnamese market. Among them, the BYD Seal is the largest and most expensive model. It is offered in two variants, the Advanced and Performance, priced at VND 1.119 billion and VND 1.359 billion, respectively.

There is a significant price difference of up to VND 240 million between the two variants of the BYD Seal in Vietnam. What are the differences in equipment and features that contribute to this price gap? Let’s find out in the following article.

Comparing the Exterior Equipment of the Two BYD Seal Variants

The two variants of the BYD Seal are identical in terms of dimensions. Built on BYD’s exclusive e-Platform 3.0 framework, this electric car has dimensions of 4,800 x 1,875 x 1,460 mm (length x width x height) and a wheelbase of 2,920 mm. With these dimensions, the BYD Seal is positioned in the D-segment sedan category, competing with the likes of the Toyota Camry and Honda Accord.

Despite its large size, the BYD Seal has a minimum turning radius of just 5.7 meters. Additionally, the ground clearance stands at 120 mm.

At first glance, it is difficult to distinguish between the two variants of the BYD Seal. Both versions come equipped with LED headlights, turn signals, headlight assist, LED daytime running lights, LED taillights, fog lights, hidden door handles, automatic windshield wipers, and power-folding/adjustable/heated side mirrors.

However, the high-end Performance variant offers additional exclusive features such as 19-inch alloy wheels, power trunk, auto-dimming side mirrors, and tinted rear side and rear windows. In contrast, the Advanced variant is fitted with 18-inch aluminum alloy wheels.

Comparing the Interior Equipment of the Two BYD Seal Variants

The BYD Seal offers a spacious 5-seat interior, thanks to its large wheelbase. The standard trunk capacity is 400 liters, while the front trunk under the hood provides an additional 50 liters of storage space.

Similar to the exterior, the interior equipment of the BYD Seal in the two variants does not differ significantly. Standard features include an 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, a 6-way power-adjustable front passenger seat, 60:40 split-folding rear seats, a multifunction steering wheel, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system that can rotate horizontally/vertically, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity, voice control (English), four USB Type A/Type C ports evenly distributed between the two rows of seats, LED reading lights, auto-dimming rearview mirror, dual-zone automatic climate control, CN95/PM2.5 air filtration system, wireless phone charging, NFC key, and a panoramic sunroof.

The standard variant is equipped with synthetic leather seats and steering wheel, along with a 10-speaker audio system. In contrast, the high-end variant features natural leather seats and steering wheel, and a Dynaudio 12-speaker audio system. Additionally, the high-end variant includes a 4-way power-adjustable lumbar support for the driver’s seat, ventilated/heated front seats with memory function, priority seat, front cup holders, a head-up display (HUD), and a multi-color interior ambient lighting system.
