A sad sight for car enthusiasts: a Porsche Cayman, once a stunning sports car, now sits abandoned and covered in dust in the basement parking lot of an upscale apartment building in Hanoi. The car, a 987.1 generation, has sparked interest from car enthusiasts, some of whom have inquired about the possibility of purchasing it from the owner.

The car, in silver, appears to have been left untouched for months, if not years, with a thick layer of dust coating its exterior. It’s unclear why the owner has seemingly abandoned such a beautiful sports car.

This particular Porsche Cayman is from the 987 generation, the internal name for the second generation of the model, which made its debut at the 2004 Paris Motor Show alongside the 911 (997) and went on sale in 2005.

The 987 generation was produced for seven years and featured two iterations. The car in the photos is the 987.1, the first generation, identifiable by its distinctive headlight and taillight design. The taillights feature a white reverse light strip at the top.
