In May 2024, VinFast started taking deposits for its VF3 electric car in Vietnam. Just over two months later, the finalized version of the vehicle has been revealed.

The VF3 seen in these images sports a rather attractive pink-purple paint job, likely to appeal to female customers. This is one of five enhanced colors available for this “made in Vietnam” electric car, along with yellow, light green, light blue, and powder pink. Additionally, the car also comes in four other basic colors: white, red, dark blue, and gray.

Aside from the colors, this particular VF3 also draws attention with its wheel design. It features 16-inch black-painted steel wheels instead of the silver ones seen on the initial test models. However, the wheels are still made of steel and not the alloy rims seen on the concept version, resulting in a less-than-impressive design.

The VinFast VF3 sports 16-inch black-painted steel wheels.

Another detail that some may find less appealing is the steering wheel. It is plastic, with no integrated function buttons, giving it a somewhat barren and less premium look.

The VinFast VF3 still features a steering wheel with a less-than-aesthetic design.

On a positive note, the VF3’s interior features body-colored trim pieces, such as the air vent surrounds, which add a youthful and modern touch to the cabin.

As previously reported, the VinFast VF3 accommodates four passengers and offers a 36-liter trunk with the rear seats up. Folding down the rear seats increases the cargo capacity to 285 liters.

Other interior features include cloth upholstery, manually adjustable front seats, a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, an electronic gear selector located behind the steering wheel, manual air conditioning, a USB Type-A port for the rear seats, two speakers, Wi-Fi connectivity, and dual-mode day/night rearview mirrors.

In terms of safety, the VF3 comes with electronic parking brakes activated by the “P” button on the electronic gear selector, anti-lock brakes (ABS), electronic brake-force distribution, brake assist (BA), traction control, hill start assist, a driver-side airbag, and rear parking sensors.

The VinFast VF3 features a speed warning system.

Performance-wise, the VF3 is powered by a single rear-mounted electric motor that produces 32 kW (approximately 43 horsepower) and 110 Nm of torque, enabling the car to accelerate from 0 to 50 km/h in 5.3 seconds. The motor is paired with a lithium-ion battery pack having a usable capacity of 18.64 kWh, delivering a range of 210 kilometers per full charge according to the NEDC standard. Charging times are estimated at 5 hours from 10% to 70% using a slow charger and just 36 minutes using a fast charger.

The VinFast VF3 boasts a range of 210 kilometers on a single charge.

Currently, the VinFast VF3 is priced at 240 million VND (approximately $10,240) if you lease the battery and 322 million VND (approximately $13,750) if you purchase the car with the battery included. For customers who choose to lease the battery, VinFast offers three pricing plans based on monthly mileage:

  • 900,000 VND/month for distances under 1,500 km
  • 1,200,000 VND/month for distances between 1,500 and 2,500 km
  • 2,000,000 VND/month for distances over 2,500 km

The first VinFast VF3 deliveries are expected to begin in August 2024, with a minimum of 20,000 units to be delivered by the end of the year. Similar to VinFast’s other electric vehicles, the VF3 comes with a 7-year/160,000-kilometer warranty for the car and an 8-year unlimited-kilometer warranty for the battery.
