In 2007, a Lamborghini Gallardo supercar was imported into Vietnam, causing quite a stir. The owner of this car, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Cuong, also known as Cuong “Dollar”, is still considered a passionate car enthusiast today. Over the past 17 years, only about three first-generation Gallardo models have been imported, one of which was badly damaged in an accident and couldn’t be repaired. The remaining two are occasionally spotted on the roads.

Recently, one of the two cars was seen at a supercar garage in Ho Chi Minh City, undergoing preparations for a restoration process to get it back on the road. Images shared by the garage show that the engine has been removed for an upgrade.

This particular Lamborghini Gallardo is owned by a low-key real estate entrepreneur who is part of an early supercar enthusiast group with Cuong “Dollar”. He quietly hunted down this car, adding it to his collection.

The Lamborghini Gallardo model has been discontinued after a decade of production, making way for the Lamborghini Huracan, which has also since stopped production.

In addition to the standard models, Vietnamese tycoons also own a few special editions, including the Lamborghini Gallardo convertible, the Lamborghini Gallardo SE of which only 250 units were produced worldwide, and the Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Superleggera Coupe and its convertible version.

The Lamborghini Gallardo, produced from 2004 onwards, is equipped with a V10 engine with a displacement of 5.0 liters. It delivers a maximum output of 493 horsepower and a peak torque of 510 Nm. This “super bull” can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4 seconds and reach a top speed of 309 km/h.
