The Koenigsegg Regera, owned by Vietnamese businessman Hoang Kim Khanh, has made a comeback on the streets of Ho Chi Minh City after months in Cambodia for license plate renewal.
After a long journey on a specialized transport vehicle from Cambodia to Vietnam, the Koenigsegg Regera was quickly refurbished by Hoang Kim Khanh to regain its former glory. Images of the car being cleaned circulated on social media, quickly attracting the attention of car enthusiasts in the country.
It is known that later this week, this one-of-a-kind hypercar in Vietnam will attend a supercar event held in Saigon. Prior to that, our reporters spotted the Koenigsegg Regera cruising the city streets. From the images, we can see that the car’s distinctive red carbon fiber body now features additional logos commemorating the 26th anniversary of Hoang Kim Khanh and his wife’s beauty salon on the front and sides. The rear features the serial number 01.
The Koenigsegg Regera is the successor to the Koenigsegg Agera and is a true masterpiece. As such, only 80 units of the Regera were produced globally. It is powered by a V8 5.0L engine combined with three additional electric motors, producing a total output of over 1,500 horsepower. This enables the car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 2.8 seconds, 150-250 km/h in 3.2 seconds, and reach 0-400 km/h in just 20 seconds before topping out at approximately 400 km/h.
In addition to its impressive performance, the Koenigsegg Regera also boasts a striking design, highlighted by its signature 180-degree opening doors. This unique feature ensures that the Regera stands out from other supercars. Furthermore, the Regera does not utilize a traditional gearbox. Instead, it employs a direct-drive transmission structure, reducing energy loss by 50% compared to conventional transmissions.
