Customizable Dividers: Maximizing Space in Your Ranger’s Cargo Area

Even the smallest details, such as the bedliner, have been thoughtfully designed with integrated ridges that allow users to optimize the bed space according to their cargo or equipment needs.

Owners can easily customize their truck bed by slotting wooden planks into these ridges to create smaller compartments, ensuring a perfect fit for their cargo. Additionally, six tie-down points in the bed come in handy when securing larger items.

Rob Hugo, Supervisor of Product Feature Integration at Ford, explains, “Whether you’re looking to keep your cargo from shifting or need to organize your gear for work or a camping trip, dividing the Ranger’s bed into smaller sections is as easy as measuring, cutting, and installing wooden dividers.”

From the earliest stages of Ranger development, in-depth discussions with customers and owners played a crucial role in helping the Ford team understand how people use their trucks and what they expect from their next vehicle.

“Flexibility was a recurring theme in these discussions,” Hugo adds. “The ability to subdivide the cargo area addresses this need, making the bed even more useful to our customers.”

“The Ranger is designed to be a versatile vehicle, catering to a wide range of owner needs, from work to family and leisure activities. Optimizing cargo space is, therefore, a key consideration. Instead of just being a large container, the Ranger’s bed can now be customized into multifunctional areas,” Hugo continues.

Even the rear bumper can be utilized as a technical workbench, which is one of Hugo’s favorite features. It comes with two built-in notches to hold clamps or vices, perfect for when you need to saw or cut those wooden planks.
