The Honda Cub E is now available through private importers from China, with prices ranging from 20 to 27 million VND in Vietnam.
Honda Cub E – the electric version of the legendary Super Cub motorcycle, was registered in Vietnam in November 2023, sparking interest from many. However, since then, Honda Vietnam has not released further information about this model. Recently, some private car dealers have imported the Cub E from China to meet the demands of Vietnamese customers.
According to sources, the pricing of the Honda Cub E varies significantly between stores. A dealer in Hanoi stated that customers would have to pay around 27 million VND to own this electric motorcycle. In contrast, a store in Ho Chi Minh City offered the Cub E at a much lower price, just over 20 million VND. The dealer attributed the quick “sell-out” of this model to many Vietnamese preferring the classic design of the Super Cub. Meanwhile, the authorized dealer price of the Cub 125 is nearly 100 million VND, a considerable difference.
When it was first introduced, the Honda Cub E was priced at approximately 21 million VND in the Chinese market. However, the price has now dropped by half to around 11 million VND. Additional costs for transportation, storage, and taxes will be incurred when the Cub E is imported into Vietnam.
The Honda Cub E retains the compact and sleek design of the Super Cub, featuring a round headlight with a classic touch. Its dimensions are 1,839 mm in length, 339 mm in width, and 1,066 mm in height, and it weighs only 53.6 kg, making it suitable for young riders and women.
Notably, the Honda Cub E is designed with a single seat for the rider, and an additional passenger seat cannot be installed.
In terms of features, the Honda Super Cub electric version is equipped with LED lights, including a headlight and daytime running lights. Turn signals are placed near the handlebars. The digital meter displays essential information such as battery level, ODO, and speed.
Additionally, the Honda Cub E offers smartphone connectivity, allowing riders to monitor battery levels, distance traveled, and GPS location. The bike also has 17-inch alloy wheels, with a disc brake on the front wheel and a drum brake on the rear.
The Honda Cub E is powered by a 48V-20Ah Ternary lithium-ion battery pack, weighing 6.4 kg and located under the footrest area. It offers a range of approximately 65 km on a single charge, with a maximum speed of 25 km/h. While the Cub E does not have a storage compartment, it provides a hook for hanging items and a foot pedal for emergency use when the battery runs out.
