According to statistics, Ford was the automaker with the most recalls in the first half of 2024 in the US market.

Specifically, Blue Oval has issued 31 recall orders, affecting nearly 3.7 million vehicles. The reputable automotive magazine Carscoops stated that the number of Ford vehicles recalled this year exceeds the total of other automakers such as General Motors, Honda, Toyota, Nissan, Volkswagen, and BMW.

Previously, in the 2021-2023 period, Ford also consistently topped the list of automakers with the most recalls in the US. In 2023 alone, Ford issued 54 recall orders, totaling nearly 5.7 million vehicles in the US.

In 2023, Ford remained the best-selling automaker in the US, delivering approximately 1.9 million vehicles to customers. Toyota followed closely with 1.89 million vehicles, while General Motors, with its Chevrolet and GMC brands, achieved a total sales volume of 2.2 million vehicles.

Some of the significant recalls Ford conducted in the first half of 2024 include over half a million F-150 pickup trucks with transmission issues. Additionally, the Bronco Sport and Maverick models were also recalled due to 12V battery problems caused by electrical faults.

Tesla is the second-highest automaker in terms of recalls in the US, after Ford. Elon Musk’s electric car company has initiated 8 recall orders, impacting over 2.5 million vehicles in the first six months of 2024.

Chrysler ranks third on the list, with 28 recall orders affecting nearly 2.25 million vehicles. In the first half of 2024, Kia, Honda (including Acura), and Toyota (including the luxury brand Lexus) have all issued recalls for over a million cars, trucks, and SUVs in the US market.
