The Hyundai Inster is a compact, urban-focused CUV with a starting price of 370 million VND.

Back in late June, Hyundai unveiled its smallest all-electric CUV, the Inster. In South Korea, this model is known as the Hyundai Casper EV.

After a fortnight, Hyundai has now announced the pricing for its home market of South Korea. The CUV starts at 31.5 million Won (around 582 million VND). However, with government incentives for electric vehicles, the actual price drops to 20 million Won (approximately 370 million VND). Currently, only the standard Inspiration trim is available, with Premium and Cross variants to follow.

The Inster measures 3,825 mm in length, 1,610 mm in width, and 1,575 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,580 mm. Compared to its combustion-engine counterpart, it is 230 mm longer, 15 mm wider, and has an 180 mm longer wheelbase.

The Inster’s design is largely based on its gasoline-powered sibling, the Casper, but with some exterior tweaks to suit its electric nature. The headlights feature a two-tier design, with daytime running lights and turn signals on top and round LED headlights below. At the rear, the CUV sports a pixelated light signature inspired by the Ioniq 5.

The interior design is also derived from the Casper, but with technology upgrades and additional color and material options. It boasts two 10.25-inch screens, wireless charging, a 64-color LED ambient lighting system, and a sunroof.

Safety is a key feature of this electric CUV, with highlights including highway driving assist, lane-keeping assist, and adaptive cruise control based on navigation data.

The Hyundai Inster comes in two variants: Standard and Long Range. The former is equipped with a 95 horsepower electric motor and a 42 kWh battery pack, offering a range of up to 300 kilometers on a single charge. The Long Range version gets an upgraded 113 horsepower motor and a 49 kWh battery, increasing the range to 315 kilometers.

Additionally, the Inster supports 120 kW DC fast charging, allowing it to charge from 10% to 80% in just 30 minutes.

Positioned as a global model, the Inster will be launched in other markets, including Europe, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia, in the near future.
