Kia Sonet 2024 Arrives in Vietnam with Three Trim Levels, Starting at VND 539 Million
The upgraded version of the Kia Sonet was officially launched in Vietnam on June 15, 2024. The Kia Sonet 2024 is now available in three trim levels: 1.5 Deluxe, 1.5 Luxury, and 1.5 Premium, with respective price tags of VND 539 million, VND 579 million, and VND 624 million.
However, according to the distributor THACO, customers who purchase the Kia Sonet 2024 during June will enjoy promotional prices of VND 534 million for the 1.5 Deluxe, VND 574 million for the 1.5 Luxury, and VND 619 million for the 1.5 Premium. As the vehicle is assembled domestically, the Kia Sonet 2024 will continue to benefit from the government’s 50% reduction in registration fees in the upcoming period.
As a popular model for Kia in the Vietnamese market, the upgraded Sonet has received significant exterior tweaks to enhance its competitiveness and appeal to customers. Compared to the previous version, the Kia Sonet 2024 is slightly more expensive and is currently the most expensive model in the A-segment SUV category in Vietnam.
In terms of dimensions, the Kia Sonet 2024 measures 4,110 mm in length, 1,790 mm in width, and 1,625 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,500 mm. These figures represent changes from the previous version. The vehicle’s luggage compartment offers a standard capacity of 392 liters, and the rear seats can be folded in a 60:40 split to increase cargo space.
The front of the vehicle impresses with its new headlight cluster, surrounded by LED daytime running lights and turn signals designed to resemble a star map. The rear combination lights have also been redesigned to enhance the overall aesthetic appeal of the 2024 Sonet facelift. Additionally, the rear bumper has been restyled, and the car is fitted with new 16-inch alloy wheels in two designs.
Compared to its predecessor, the Kia Sonet 2024 boasts a significantly more modern interior. Notable features include a 4.2-inch TFT LCD multi-information display, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, navigation, Bluetooth hands-free calling, and a six-speaker audio system.
The vehicle also comes equipped with automatic climate control with new piano-style buttons, remote engine and air-conditioning start, a power sunroof with anti-pinch safety feature, a 12V power outlet, a USB Type-C port, a sunglasses holder, and separate lighting for the driver’s compartment, among other features.
In terms of safety, the Kia Sonet 2024 in Vietnam adds two new features: cruise control and a manual speed limit assist system. The vehicle also comes standard with two to six airbags (depending on the trim level), anti-lock brakes (ABS), electronic brake force distribution (EBD), electronic stability control (ESC), hill-start assist control (HAC), a mechanical handbrake, and a tire pressure monitoring system.
Unfortunately, the Kia Sonet 2024 sold in Vietnam does not include electronic parking brakes, auto hold, or advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) like those offered in other markets.
In terms of powertrain, this A-segment SUV retains the previous model’s 1.5-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine, producing 113 horsepower and 144 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a continuously variable automatic transmission that simulates eight gears. The option of a six-speed manual transmission has been discontinued. The vehicle offers three driving modes (Normal, Eco, and Sport) and three terrain modes (Snow, Mud, and Sand).
