Audi Unveils the All-New A5 2025: A Major Evolution in Design, Features, and Technology
In reality, the A5 2025 is the next generation of the A4, renamed to align with Audi’s new naming convention (odd numbers for gasoline vehicles and even numbers for electric vehicles).
Similar to the A4, the 2025 Audi A5 offers two body styles: a 5-door sedan and a wagon. Meanwhile, the coupe and cabriolet configurations previously available on the A5 have been discontinued.
In terms of exterior design, the Audi A5 has been completely redesigned with fresh, sporty styling. Notable features on the new A5 include sharper LED headlights, sleek LED taillights, a refined single-frame grille, and large air intakes on the sides of the front bumper.
The 2025 Audi A5 is the first model to utilize Volkswagen Group’s new Premium Platform Combustion (PPC) architecture. This platform is designed to accommodate rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive vehicles and can be used for both conventional gasoline and hybrid powertrains.
The new A5 is longer and wider than its predecessor, and its wheelbase has been increased by 68 mm (to a total of 2,900 mm), resulting in a more spacious cabin.
The interior of the Audi A5 has been fully revamped with a modern design. It features a 11.9-inch digital instrument cluster, a head-up display, and a 14.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Audi’s MMI software. Additionally, the front passenger is now treated to a 10.9-inch entertainment screen. The car also boasts a premium sound system from Bang and Olufsen.
The Audi A5 2025 offers a range of engine options. Firstly, there’s a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder TFSI engine that produces 148 horsepower in the front-wheel-drive version or 201 horsepower in the quattro all-wheel-drive variant.
Secondly, a hybrid powertrain is available, combining a 2.0-liter turbocharged TDI diesel engine with an electric motor for a total output of 225 horsepower. This setup is paired with a dual-clutch automatic transmission and is offered with either front-wheel drive or Audi’s legendary quattro all-wheel drive.
The performance-oriented Audi S5 also receives a hybrid setup, combining a 3.0-liter V6 TFSI engine with an electric motor. This results in a total output of 362 horsepower, an increase of 13 horsepower over the previous S4 and S5 models. The S5 comes equipped with a smooth-shifting S tronic dual-clutch transmission and Audi’s sport differential, which features torque vectoring capability to enhance the driving experience during cornering.
The new Audi A5 and S5 will go on sale in Europe later this month, with the first deliveries expected in November. In Germany, the A5 has a starting price of 45,200 euros, which roughly translates to 1.25 billion Vietnamese dong.
