The fourth-generation Bentley Continental GT has just been unveiled, boasting a host of design, equipment, and engine upgrades. The most notable of these is its V8 hybrid system, which delivers a staggering 800 horsepower.

With increasingly stringent emission regulations in the US and Europe, large engines such as the W16, V12, and W12 are gradually disappearing from new offerings by sports car manufacturers like BMW M, Mercedes-AMG, Lamborghini, and Porsche. These are being replaced by smaller-displacement engines combined with hybrid systems to achieve higher performance while reducing emissions.

Bentley has recently introduced the new Continental GT and GTC to global customers. The most noteworthy feature of this new grand tourer is its new V8 hybrid system that delivers 771 horsepower, replacing the W12 engine that has made Bentley famous for many years.

In terms of design, the Continental GT maintains its overall retro style with a hint of sportiness that the brand has employed since 2003. The most significant change is the single-matrix LED headlights inspired by the Batur supercar, replacing the classic dual round headlights of the previous generation. The automaker states that the new headlights consist of 120 independently finished LEDs, ensuring excellent illumination while providing a unique visual effect.

The rear of the car has also been subtly refined with changes to the bumper, rear diffuser, and exhaust pipes. The taillights retain their elliptical shape but feature more intricate and eye-catching inner details. The car is fitted with 21-inch wheels and carbon-ceramic brakes.

The interior layout of the Bentley Continental GT and GTC 2025 remains largely unchanged from its predecessor. The highlight of the dashboard is the 12.3-inch central screen, which can rotate three-dimensionally. Additionally, the new generation is equipped with an advanced infotainment system, wireless device connectivity, over-the-air software update capability, and enhanced soundproofing.

When purchasing this car, customers can extensively personalize it through options provided by Mulliner, including the Dark Chrome Specification package or the choice of Bang & Olufsen or Naim audio systems.

The Bentley Continental GT Speed is equipped with a new powertrain called the Ultra Performance Hybrid, comprising a 4.0L twin-turbo V8 engine with electric turbochargers, an electric motor integrated into the transmission, and a 25.9 kWh battery pack located at the rear axle. This is paired with an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, an all-wheel-drive system, and an electronic limited-slip differential (eLSD).

Other performance enhancements include new dual-valve shocks that allow separate adjustment of compression and rebound for each wheel, faster oscillation damping rates from the road surface, standard rear-wheel steering, and an active anti-roll bar. According to Bentley, the Continental GT offers the comfortable ride of a luxury car while delivering the sporty handling of a true supercar.

The V8 engine alone produces 600 horsepower and 800 Nm of torque. The accompanying electric motor adds 190 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque. Combined, this British grand tourer boasts a total output of 782 horsepower and 1,000 Nm of torque.

Despite being 192 kg heavier than its predecessor, the luxury coupe can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds and reach a top speed of 335 km/h. The Continental GTC Speed convertible variant has slightly lower figures, achieving the same feat in 3.4 seconds with a top speed of 285 km/h.

The new Bentley Continental GT will be available for purchase from the third quarter of this year. The company has not yet announced the price of this car.
